Dear Uncle Sigmund,
Am I crazy or is Sarah
Palin driving the liberals
and feminists insane?
Curious Curt

Dear Curt,

You are not crazy. I have not seen so much abnormal behavior since I
was completing my studies in Vienna.

Sarah Palin seems to be a catalyst for extreme behavior for those who
disagree with her. I noticed that when she used the word "lipstick"
feminists had (to use a psychiatric term) a bloody meltdown. I believe
that this is because, in her public acknowledgement of the fact the she
wears make-up, along
with her confidence in seeking the land's second highest office,
she
combined femininity with feminism!
Many find this so
revolutionary that it is terrifying.

It is a little crazy the way she is being derided for being in the Miss
Alaska Pageant. Am I the only person who saw Miss Congeniality! IT'S
A SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM!

My dear Curt, this is fascinating! These people are working a defense
mechanism bigger than a Sherman tank. I think most people like Palin
because of her character and logical and straightforward approach.
Add to that the fact that Michelle O. even thinks she's cute, I'd say
Sarah Palin's got it all and those who resent that will continue their
mental decline.- S

Dear Uncle Sigmund...A friend invited me to a movie. I hadn't
been in a while so I went. The movie starred some guy
named Bill Maher A short time into the film I found it to be a
denigration of religion. I got up and left! Two questions ...
should I go back and get my friend and secondly what is
with this Maher guy?

Missing Heston in Denver

Dear Missing,
If it has been less then four days, go back for your friend. If he or
she is still waiting in the theatre- write me again. You may have a
problem...

The question of Maher is a little more difficult.  I have had many
patients who do not believe in God, many who do and a few who
believe they are God. Back in Vienna there was one fellow who
thought that God spoke to him through his goldfish. There are no
rules. Most of us are content to let the other guy believe what he
will. This Maher character is the exception. He cannot stand to
see others enjoying religious faith. He feels compelled to spoil it
for them- to shake their faith. He cannot tolerate happiness in
others.

He is like an angry little child, fearful underneath. Perhaps he
feels that God let him down- made him too short, not good-looking
enough, not talented enough? Who knows?

I would advise that people do not attend his movie. That would be
just like giving into the tantrum-throwing
child.
He should seek professional help. Clearly, he is an unhappy and
lonely man. If you are a believer- you might try praying for him. -S.
Dear Uncle Sigmund...I've noticed that since the election,
the victorious liberal/Democrats are not behaving like I
thought they would. I saw a bunch on Election Night. I
thought they'd be so happy they'd leave me alone but they
didn't . They gloated. They ridiculed me. They were very
angry at me. I've noticed That  most
Republican/Conservatives have tried to be cordial in their
defeat but many entertainers and many of their leaders
aren't really celebrating. They are as nasty, snide and
strident as ever. What's up with that, Uncle S?
Amazed in Miami

Dear Amazed,

I had a similar experience while in University in Vienna. A
group of very unhappy students believed they should not have
to pay for books. They caused endless trouble until given free
books. They were still very unhappy and a few days later they
burned their books to protest something else. Amazed, some
people are never happy.

Today's liberal movement seems to attract these people. They
are pessimists and they have ;little confidence in human nature
in general. They gravitate toward government policies that
provide all needs for people, believing people cannot take care
of themselves.

They cannot tolerate disagreement. They have so little
confidence in themselves that they perceive even a civil
disagreement as a personal attack. They seek a leader to
replace the hope they cannot find in their own hearts.
They will gloat in their victory but there will be no real joy or
peace for them. They will continue to attack.

In 4 years from now they will still be as angry and nasty as they
appeared to be just prior to this last election. Pessimists will
never be happy.

Dear Uncle Sigmund...I don't have much money and
I guess I've been kind of envious and resentful of
rich people- you know corporate fat cats. Lately
though it has become full fledged hatred. It seems
that every time I turn on network news I hear
another horrible thing these fat cats are doing.
They don't deserve success. I find myself really
wanting to see all these big businesses fail so that
they all suffer as I have. I don't think I'm wrong to
feel this hatred for big business because Obama,
Reid, Pelosi. all of them, the ones in charge, keep
telling us how horrible business is and that we
should feel this way. Can you tell me I'm wrong?

Vengeful in Vermont

Dear Vengeful.
Your feelings are very human. I remember as a young lad
in Vienna I, like you, was not wealthy. A boy in my class
had everything! He was the son of a very wealthy sausage
maker. I used to fantasize that his father's factory would be
destroyed. So, you see, I do understand.

Sadly, Vengeful, your small, natural feelings of envy are
being mutated and used by others. It is not a new tactic. It
has been used by politicians to control and manipulate
people since the dawn of civic organization. It is called
CLASS WARFARE.

Instead of encouraging people on different economic levels
to understand and respect each other, politicians, with the
help of whatever media they control, fan the flames of
envy in the financially struggling until they become an
inferno. The people then demand justice from their
government. These clever politicians respond by taking
control of "evil " business, their money and their power.

Vengeful,  you are not wrong to wish you were wealthy.
You are wrong to let yourself be used and manipulated by
others and you are wrong to harbor hatred and thoughts of
revenge.

By the way, as a boy I got my wish. That sausage factory
burned down. My joy was short-lived when I realized how
many people lost their jobs and how many merchants had
nothing to sell and how many restaurants had nothing to
serve. Many were even poorer for a long time. Believe you
me, life without wiener schnitzel is not pretty.

Dear Uncle Sigmund,

I read about this psychological thing called
"megalomania" and I'm pretty sure the President has it.
But lately I wonder. He keeps putting our own country
down in front of other countries. We're getting weaker
and weaker.  Wouldn't he want to head up the BEST
country instead of the WORST? Am I wrong about him,
Uncle Sigmund? Could he have an inferiority complex
and not megalomania?

Amateur Shrink in Sheboygan

because I think you are on to something.

incredible power, perhaps omnipotence. It also describes one who's
actions are governed by an ever-growing greed for power and can
demonstrate a tendency to exaggerate.

Your President does not appear to have delusions of power as he is,
in a reality, quite powerful. However, in studying the evolution of his
speeches over the past  two years, a passion to achieve more and more
power is evident. He increasingly refers to himself as a sole power rather
than as a part of an administration. Yes, Sheboygan, megalomania seems
extremely likely. You are also correct that his determined effort to diminish
the image of the country he rules is confusing.

It reminds of my days in university at Vienna. Our Freshman class elected
a charismatic charmer as our class president.  While campaigning he
approached each one of us and assured us he would look out for our
interests. After election, however, he started hanging around with
upperclassmen. He constantly belittled his fellow Freshmen, apologizing
for us, never passing up an opportunity to mention our flaws and
shortcomings. As betrayed as we were, we were more confused.

Soon, it all became clear. As only a Sophomore, he was elected as
President of the entire student body. Our class was a stepping stone to
him and nothing more.

Be on the look out for similar behavior on the part of your own leader. It is
possible that the power he really seeks is global power. If that is the case,
diminishing the strength and status of the United States is not contrary to
the indications of megalomania but makes perfect sense.

Watch for other signs of this such as efforts on the President's  to replace
domestic currency with a world currency, to expand the powers of
international organizations in general and as superior to the powers of
American entities and to enforce foreign laws in American courts.

It is possible that the envisioned endgame of this megalomaniac is to rule
the world.  In that context, the health of this country is only of relative
importance.

When a fear is so profound that it interferes with our lives we call them phobias.
Yet, a certain amount of fear is normal.

This brings to mind an incident when I was a student at University in Vienna. I
had a professor for literature classes. She seemed very nice and talked quite a
bit about how she cared about students while the rest of the faculty did not. She
smiled and was somewhat attractive. She always spoke softly. However, I came
to believe she was a monster. She made up outrageous story about William
Shakespeare and taught them as fact. One brave freshman raised his hand and
said he would like to respectfully disagree with the veracity of her statement.
She went to the Dean in tears, claiming the student had said horrible and
threatening things. She finally got him expelled.

I believe Nancy may be the same kind of sociopath. Capable of saying
ANYTHING to achieve her goal and very capable of portraying any emotion as
well.

In my opinion, dear Phobic, you show great perception to fear this creature. It is
terrifying that she holds such power. Anybody who doesn't fear her needs the
shrink!

Uncle Sigmund
Nancy Pelosi. Even though I'm a guy, I'll admit I used to be
weird smile that pops out at inappropriate times when she
talks! I'm having nightmares. Should I see a shrink?
