I once set up a workshop to help people in
identifying and resisting unethical sales
practices. Gee. I wish I'd known Barrack
Obama back then- because today he's giving
us a clinic...
My workshop participants were told that
unethical and "pushy" sales people often
use the following 10 techniques:
1. "They Sell Hope"
President Obama certainly demonstrates how
this is done. A case in point is his treatment of
the so-called Stimulus or Economic Recovery
Bill. He was very persuasive in his claims that
this legislation would not only save and
transform the economy, but would actually put
large amounts of money in the pockets of the
citizenry. An unrealistic hope at best.
2. " They Create a Sense of Urgency"
"You've got to make your decision NOW",
"This deal will not last if you don't sign NOW."
these kinds of statements are the hallmarks of
the successful pushy salesman. Similarly,
Obama told us that we had to have acted
IMMEDIATELY to save our country. The buyer
(the American taxpayer) was denied any time
for consideration or examination and forced
into imprudent action. The pushy salesman will
not give a customer time to read and
understand the "small print" in a contract much
in the way Nancy Pelosi insisted on a vote on
this Bill without a reading.
3. "They Present Themselves as the Only
Authority"
Not only did Obama blithely dismiss any
economic authority who disagreed with the
approach of this bill, he subtly demeaned them
and openly used irresponsible generalizations
to marginalize them.
4. "They Lie"
President Obama claimed this bill contained no
earmarks. Remarkable!
5. "They Pressure the Customer to
Expand the Sale, to Buy ADD-ONS They
Don't Want or Need".
This Bill should have contained ONLY tax cuts
that would have put money in the pockets of
consumers and would have been constructed
specifically to spur new job creation in the
private sector, and perhaps some limited
funding for carefully selected infrastructure
projects that would be essential anyway and
could create jobs immediately. Instead, this
pushy democrat sales team tossed in all kinds
of "accessories" such as moves toward
nationalized health care.
6. "They Use Inflated Values, Inflated
Prices and False Discounts"
To accomplish real and immediate economic
stimulation and job creation, many economists
believe that only a fraction of the price tag on
this measure was needed. Yet, an
outrageously large cost was presented and
then a reduced compromise cost was reached.
The price tag was still ridiculously high and
using SOP pushy sales tactics the Obama
team crows endlessly about the "cuts" their
measure has taken.
7. "They Try to Appear Unbiased"
The President and his Congressional
Henchmen talk about this Bill in context of
saving the people in hopes that nobody will
realize that they do have a stake in the
passage of this; that it directly rewards their
political cronies and dramatically increases the
governmental powers that they, as a group
and as individuals, will have.
8. "They Use 'Bait 'N Switch' Tactics and
Deceptive Packaging"
Members of the House and Senate and the
citizens of this Country were informed that we
needed a bill to provide economic stimulus.
After everyone entered into negotiations for
that kind of Bill, behind the curtain it was
switched with an incredible left-wing wish-
fulfillment spending Bill. Just as a shady
salesman might sell a tiny jar of moisturizer in
a huge box full of Styrofoam, the portions of
this legislation are buried inside a huge
package of garbage.
9. "They Say Exactly What People Want
and Need to Hear, Whether It Is True or
Not and They Evade Direct Questions"
If you saw President Obama's Press
Conference on February 9th, no further
discussion is needed.
AND FINALLY: Dishonest, Pushy Sales

President Obama discussed this bill in
increasingly dramatic language. "This is the
greatest disaster since 1929", "If we fail to
pass this Bill into law, the economy will be
irreversibly destroyed", and so on. Senator
Specter is a prime example of a weak-willed
customer who bends to these fear tactics.
Clearly, Pelosi and Reid ran a very
aggressive boiler room and Obama could
be the best door-to-door salesman of all
time. He used every trick in the book to
sell us history's biggest boondoggle of a
vacuum cleaner. And as one would expect
from such an appliance, it will drain
America's wealth from the taxpayers for
the foreseeable future. And now that
America has fallen for these high
pressure sales tactics, the "sucker" mark
will be placed by the door and the Obama
sales team will be back- again…and again
and again…

Dear Uncle Sigmund...I don't have much money and
I guess I've been kind of envious and resentful of
rich people- you know corporate fat cats. Lately
though it has become full fledged hatred. It seems
that every time I turn on network news I hear
another horrible thing these fat cats are doing.
They don't deserve success. I find myself really
wanting to see all these big businesses fail so that
they all suffer as I have. I don't think I'm wrong to
feel this hatred for big business because Obama,
Reid, Pelosi. all of them, the ones in charge, keep
telling us how horrible business is and that we
should feel this way. Can you tell me I'm wrong?

Your feelings are very human. I remember as a young lad
in Vienna I, like you, was not wealthy. A boy in my class
had everything! He was the son of a very wealthy sausage
maker. I used to fantasize that his father's factory would be
destroyed. So, you see, I do understand.
Sadly, Vengeful, your small, natural feelings of envy are
being mutated and used by others. It is not a new tactic. It
has been used by politicians to control and manipulate
people since the dawn of civic organization. It is called
CLASS WARFARE.
Instead of encouraging people on different economic levels
to understand and respect each other, politicians, with the
help of whatever media they control, fan the flames of
envy in the financially struggling until they become an
inferno. The people then demand justice from their
government. These clever politicians respond by taking
control of "evil " business, their money and their power.
Vengeful, you are not wrong to wish you were wealthy.
You are wrong to let yourself be used and manipulated by
others and you are wrong to harbor hatred and thoughts of
revenge.
By the way, as a boy I got my wish. That sausage factory
burned down. My joy was short-lived when I realized how
many people lost their jobs and how many merchants had
nothing to sell and how many restaurants had nothing to
serve. Many were even poorer for a long time. Believe you
me, life without wiener schnitzel is not pretty.

"This was supposed to be a
surprise. But those
Republicans keep harping on
the amount of jobs in the
Stimulus Bill. So, as usual I
have to respond to their
uncooperative attitude."

"We are going to have a new infrastructure project that will not only provide countless jobs
but restore pride in our country and please the rest of the world."
After making that statement. Reid produced a large photograph of Mount Rushmore with
indications of where the head of President Barrack Obama would be sculpted next to the
four Presidents already there.
"Adding Obama to Rushmore is probably the greatest surprise spending that we have
tucked away in that wonderful bill", said Reid, "and I'm sure its the one the American people
will love the most."
Reid appeared to be perturbed when a reporter from Fox News asked what Obama had
done to merit inclusion in such exclusive company on the famous rock.
"Really, now. I think during his first few hours in office we already knew he was the greatest
president we've ever, ever had."
Reid described the project a "chisel-ready" but declined to share the actual price tag of the
endeavor, where the money would come from and the estimated time for completion. -sjm

Caveats for Conservatives
Beware Liberal Mantras: Bush the Socialist

Conservatives, Beware. Whether you are a nationally recognized conservative
leader, a TV and Radio host, or a top talker at the office water cooler, what you
say now about our slide into socialism matters. Do not buy into the proposition that
Obama Should not shoulder the culpability for this alone. Conservative "purists"
seem to think the thing to do is to share the blame with Bush, even offering a
Bush-Obama title for the fiasco.
To be Blunt, and these days bluntness is needed, I say to these purists: you are
not helping. Moreover, your interpretation is a bit off the mark. Yes, the
prescription drug measure can be defined as having some socialistic
characteristics, but it was wrought as a part of a pre-existing system, long in place
and long embedded in the lives of our senior citizens. It may have overstepped the
boundaries of government involvement, but more culpability lies with the
originators of the system, itself. As for the TARP- Obama's buds Geithner and
Summers did not handle it well (see ammunition for more) but it was intended to
provide short term loans to specific entities to loosen credit. Our government, for
better or for worse, has been offering loans and grants to businesses for
decades. The government has been acting as an insurance agent as FDIC. In
short- yes one can find examples in the past of excessive government
involvement. It is our job to fight against that whenever and whenever we can, but
realistically, it happens. In a Country as big, as industrialized and socially complex
as ours, sometimes it happens. In the case of George Bush these were isolated
lapses, occasional stumbles off the path. To bracket anything from the

A former pork producer and a political
analyst, she tolerates NO...

In the years that my husband, children and I farrowed and finished hogs my stress level was
the lowest when I was in the farrowing house with the mother sows who were about
to give birth. More often then not I remember our sows birthing during the late night hours. It
was very peaceful with only the radio playing in the background to soothe the mother sows.
Working with the mother sows had a very calming effect on me. They never talked back and
seemed to be very appreciative of all that was done for them. My stress level started to rise
with two of my three children in the military and my third child and her family loosing their
home due to flooding. Stress levels peaked with my son serving a deployment in
Afghanistan and reached there highest with both my son and oldest daughter having
overlapping deployments in Iraq.

who says wearing a flag lapel pin is “false patriotism” and now wears one everyday? And as to no earmarks in the Spending

The safe return of my two “heroes” after helping to fight the war on terrorism dropped my levels to the bottom end of the
“stress-o-meter” but with Barack Obama now residing in the White House my levels have risen. How can I give credence to
someone who I do not believe is legally eligible to serve as President of the United States? How can I trust someone whose
It,s been a win-win the past few days for Democratic and
Republican loyalists,but what about the rest of us? You know-
Americans who either think that (a) spending nonexistent trillions
is not quite the way to proceed in an economic crisis,or that (b)
Rush Limbaugh is the messiah. Oh wait, that's right,Barack
Obama is the messiah. I get confused sometimes,what
with so much deification going on. Limbaugh's 85-minute
speech at last weekends Conservative Political Action
Conference, frequently interrupted by grateful applause from a
slightly star-struck audience,was,dare we say it, "Obamaesque".
But where there's deification, there's bound to be demonization.
Rush told the audience that Obama, in essence is Stalin. And
Obama, via chief commando Rahm Emanuel, anointed Limbaugh
as leader of the GOP,calling him the "voice and the intellectual
force and energy behind the Republican party." Talk about
damning with praise! El Rushbo can't have minded much,
despite his protestations that he was being manipulated and
maligned by the White House to distract Americans from the
"plunging economy."
If this is not enough, Michael Steele, new Republican National
Committee Chair, tried to inject a little calm into the discussion
and quickly learned that criticizing the "So called, GOP leader",
is an act of treason punishable by public humiliation. After Steele
said in an weekend interview that Rush is sometimes "ugly",
The talk-show host conducted a 20-minute, on air spanking and
let Steele know that he, El Rushbo, is the talking-head pundit
around here. But, if neither Limbaugh or Steele is the leader of
the GOP, then who is it? The answer seems obvious: Mitt
Romney. It
is hard to say "Mitt Romney" without wanting to say "Poor Mitt.".
He"s like the quiet, polite kid who keeps raising his hand with
the correct answer-all his homework neatly arranged in his book
bag-but the teacher is too busy with the rowdies to call on him.
Oh yeah,Romney was at CPAC, too. He also gave a fantastic
speech and even won the presidential straw poll-for the third
straight year. But he notably has stepped out of the frame the
past few days, and for good reason. He's taking notes, retooling,
analyzing, waiting. Compare Romney's and Limbaugh's speeches
and you see who the real GOP leader is. Where Limbaugh wants
to slash and burn,Romney wants to build and repair. Where
Limbaugh wants Obama to fail,Romney wants "our country to
succeed,no matte who's in power. As Romney put it,We want
America to be prosperous and secure,regardless of who gets
the credit... in good times and bad,the interests of this great
nation come first."One man is entertaining, rabble-rousing
politicial commentator. The other is a temperate, optimistic
leader with a business record of red-to-black successes. No
one should confuse the two,though Obama surely hopes
everyone will.

Republicans to stand by tacitly while the opposition dictates and defines the terms
of political discourse. No more. We're defining the terms now. Toward that end
we'll examine a few words and phrases in each issue.
MANDATE: Usually defined as an order or command in the realm of
politics it denotes an election victory that was not only a landslide but so
attributable to one identifiable and significant factor that landslide victor
has a clear command from the people to take some associated action.
President Obama may like to believe he operates with the impetus of
some kind of voter mandate, but, alas, it not so. His victory can in no
way be quantified as a landslide. Secondly, there is no one single stand
of Obama's on any single issue that can be identified. Unfortunately,
this is Obama's own fault. His public relations-based campaign was so
complex that it contained both pro and con stands on everything from
war to abortion. What resulted were Obama voters who voter in some
blissful haze of hope but could rarely identify an issue-based reason. A
lot can emerge from a situation like that but a MANDATE isn't one of
them.
SACRIFICE: Used by most of us to indicate giving up something we
need or want for an altruistic purpose. It happens to be an Obama
favorite. We are being told with growing frequency that there will be
much sacrifice for us. Remember that our new President is master at
language manipulation. When he says "sacrifice", which definition is he
using. The dictionary primarily talks about a sacrifice as something
offered to a deity or higher power. Something that is killed on an altar or
something that is destroyed or surrendered for the sake of something
else. What is striking about these definitions is that they do not
necessarily involve the approval or cooperation of the person who
sacrifices or is sacrificed. Do not assume that Obama means a gentle
sacrifice of gas usage or something. Couldn't he just as easily be talking
about the destruction of free enterprise and the surrender of individual
rights to produce the welfare state he envisions?

plagued with a variety of ethical dilemmas. Americans are
expected to forget that this little dance troupe is the same

RESPONSIBILITY TO FUTURE GENERATIONS: For
years the democrats, in a bear-hug alliance with
environmental extremists have damaged and closed
businesses, ended needed infrastructure projects, stifled

and curtailed inexpensive energy sources. They have
done all of this in the name of future generations. "We
can't have use of domestic or nuclear fuel now because it
might have some detectable impact on the planet." We

because SUV's and large, safe vehicles, might impact the
planet for future generations." And so on... HOWEVER-
this same future-loving outfit is willing, without hesitation
or remorse, to saddle future generations with a debt that
will most likely be unmanageable and crippling. It is the
kind of debt that can rob entire generations of any
opportunity for financial success or freedom. So much for

It was one of those manufactured issues. Candidates of all political
ilk seemed to get on the bandwagon of condemning George Bush
for "telling us to shop" after 911. Barrack Obama, the candidate,
frequently condemned Bush for failing to take the opportunity to call
people to volunteer after the terrorist attacks. Nothing more
effectively demonstrates Obama's failure to completely grasp the
impact of 911. Thank God we had at the time a President who knew-
who understood that what the terrorists sought to take from us was
not some buildings- but a way of life. They sought to fill us with fear.
They prayed their actions would keep us cowering in our homes
while our commerce collapsed. Of course, George could have
expressed it better, but what he said was absolutely and without a
doubt the right thing to say at that time. He was saying : "Don't allow
terrorists to disrupt life as we live it here. Carry on, unafraid."
Maybe President Obama would have responded by telling us all to
go to nearest ACORN center or something. He would have been

Speaking of Bush, the Decision to Go to Iraq Was
Absolutely Correct
The Obama gang, the old establishment media, even a few others
who claim to be conservative now seem to joining in this hypnotically
parroted chant: It was wrong to go to Iraq. We should have gone to
Afghanistan, instead". STOP! THAT IS RIDICULOUS
Al Quiada is a global movement. It is true that Iraq is not the only
country that provided a haven and moreover a springboard for
911-type activity. However, Iraq was the smartest place for us to
concentrate our efforts. We could have put all of our eggs in the
Afghanistan basket. I promise you that if we had, the loss of life
would have been much, much higher and we would still be pursuing
throngs of terrorists through an endless network of caves through
what may be the world's most inhospitable terrain. In going into Iraq
we were not only able to take out a major headquarters for AQ
training and operations but we able to help a country transform itself
from a pawn in the hands of a bloodthirsty dictator to a thriving,
stable democracy that adds significantly to stability and the
protection of human rights throughout the Middle East. In other
words, there were so many additional benefits to be wrought from
success in Iraq it was obviously the right course. This will be a lot
easier to see after Obama makes a disaster out of Afghanistan. The
world we be a much better place if Americans would see and
understand this and forthrightly and powerfully talk down all the "Iraq
was the wrong war" voices!

suspicions that this Administration

reproach. But then again this time it is the liberals who are
being
nominated and of course democrat/libs are always held to a
lower standard than republicans/conservatives. This is
hogwash! When my children were in 4-H and showing
livestock at the fair it was the hog that conformed to the
highest standards that took home a purple or blue ribbon. I
hate to inform the Obama administration but if a hog and one
of this cabinet nominees went head to head in a judging ring
at a livestock
show the pig would win. I have never known an animal to
have
a dishonest bone in their body. And we should expect no
less of the men or the women that will hold the top positions
in our federal government.. Would you have your taxes
prepared by an accountant that advertisement read “I
cheated on my taxes”…I think not. One of my friends from
Nebraska thought that since I lived in Iowa I should be in
favor of Barack Obama’s choice for Secretary of Agriculture.

because you held the position of governor of an agricultural
state does not make you qualified to hold the position of

contenders with top notch qualifications and no excess
baggage

was say that Rush Limbaugh was the
head of the Republican Party and I knew
that it would cause trouble."
Emanuel further stated that by simultaneously putting Limbaugh's remark about
his hopes that Obama would fail in the worst possible light, many notable
Republicans "would respond in a very predictable way". According to Emanuel
he believes today's Republicans to be "insecure" and "incredibly concerned"
about being criticized by the media and called partisan. He believed that many

This is war. Make no mistake about it. This republic of ours has been a noble experiment and now it is under attack. We are under attack.
If we are to have even a glimmer of hope for victory we must focus our efforts and our energies. Do not be confused or confounded by all the
smoke and fog on the battlefield. Look through it. Look through all the hyperbole and vacuous verbiage. There is one basic truth to see and
understand right now: Everything that Obama and company does has only one ultimate goal: to create a huge mass of supporters- a
proletariat class that is completely dependent on the government and completely under its control. Everything that Obama does is dedicated
to creating a proletariat that is large enough to be the sole voice of the people.
That is the purpose of these "stimulus" actions. The final result of these actions will be class warfare that makes economic class distinctions
more clearly defined. The taxpayers and captains of industry will be a diminished number. They will be overburdened, villainized and without
electoral influenced. The other class will be, whether they want to be or not, transformed into "Takers"- unmotivated, unrewarded, and
completely dependent on an all-powerful government. Power is the key word here. It is all about power. Do not ever be distracted by
conversation about other goals and intentions. The enemy is focused. They will do and say anything to achieve power and their primary battle
plan is to create a proletariat so large it cannot be overcome.
They will inflate those ranks by depriving the people of opportunities to succeed commercially. They will inflate those ranks by allowing as
many illegal aliens into the country as possible and by securing the vote for those people and others such as convicted felons. They will
inflate those ranks by demoralizing the people- by removing their independence and rights. All of these seemingly insane environmental
measures are designed to remove a decision-making from the people- what light bulbs to use- what to eat. All of these crazy, politically correct
laws and legal decisions- that impact what people can say, wear and do… This is not all some wild social chaos. To the contrary: it is a plan-
the enemy's battle plan.
What do we do? The first step is to really see this and to understand it. The second step is to come to understand the art of semantics.
Conservatives and Republicans have a tendency to be more direct in their communication. That's a good thing but as a result we have
become less sensitive games of semantics when we encounter them and unarmed in countering them. No more. Even people on Fox News
are falling for the Obama gamesmanship. I remember during his campaign Obama said "I'm not interested in reinstating the Fairness
Doctrine." Even some of the toughest interviewers fell for this and interpreted it as opposition. It is not. Obama was only saying that it was not
a priority during the campaign, That's all. If it was something in which he was interested, he might have been forced to make a statement that

Reagan vetoed it. His veto was not overridden. Unless those same circumstances are duplicated, the President and the Congress don't have
a pony in the race. We must prepare right now for the fact that a variety of actions will be taken by the FCC that will have a net effect of
silencing any opinion in dissent of the Obama Administration. We must prepare to oppose them as energetically as we have ever done

If we are to have even a glimmer of hope for victory we must focus our efforts and our energies. Do not be confused or confounded by all the
smoke and fog on the battlefield. Look through it. Look through all the hyperbole and vacuous verbiage. There is one basic truth to see and
understand right now: Everything that Obama and company does has only one ultimate goal: to create a huge mass of supporters- a
proletariat class that is completely dependent on the government and completely under its control. Everything that Obama does is dedicated
to creating a proletariat that is large enough to be the sole voice of the people.
That is the purpose of these "stimulus" actions. The final result of these actions will be class warfare that makes economic class distinctions
more clearly defined. The taxpayers and captains of industry will be a diminished number. They will be overburdened, villainized and without
electoral influenced. The other class will be, whether they want to be or not, transformed into "Takers"- unmotivated, unrewarded, and
completely dependent on an all-powerful government. Power is the key word here. It is all about power. Do not ever be distracted by
conversation about other goals and intentions. The enemy is focused. They will do and say anything to achieve power and their primary battle
plan is to create a proletariat so large it cannot be overcome.
They will inflate those ranks by depriving the people of opportunities to succeed commercially. They will inflate those ranks by allowing as
many illegal aliens into the country as possible and by securing the vote for those people and others such as convicted felons. They will
inflate those ranks by demoralizing the people- by removing their independence and rights. All of these seemingly insane environmental
measures are designed to remove a decision-making from the people- what light bulbs to use- what to eat. All of these crazy, politically correct
laws and legal decisions- that impact what people can say, wear and do… This is not all some wild social chaos. To the contrary: it is a plan-
the enemy's battle plan.
What do we do? The first step is to really see this and to understand it. The second step is to come to understand the art of semantics.
Conservatives and Republicans have a tendency to be more direct in their communication. That's a good thing but as a result we have
become less sensitive games of semantics when we encounter them and unarmed in countering them. No more. Even people on Fox News
are falling for the Obama gamesmanship. I remember during his campaign Obama said "I'm not interested in reinstating the Fairness

Joseph. Second in command to the King, Duke Joseph often felt overlooked and
unimportant and was frequently ridiculed. So, one day he decided that he would surprise
the king by doing something important! He would change the official crest of the kingdom.
Duke Joseph dressed in his finest suit woven of A-# D-# (plural)
and set about to travel the kingdom in search of inspiration. Although costly, he traveled
in a H-# coach called Kingdom 2 and throughout the kingdom he passed out
small pieces of C-# and E-# as he passed by to
mollify the hungry peasants.
Stopping at one point, Duke Joseph saw a I-# and F-# C-#
discarded by the side of the road. He H-# commanded an artist from the kingdom
crier corps to draw it. Upon seeing the results, he knew it must be in the crest.
Later, as Duke Joseph sat in a tavern, considering the meaning of life, a bar wench
tripped and spilled a Steaming tray of F-# , F-# I-#
on the head of a G-# . Magically, the entire scene reminded the Duke of a happy
day he spent with J-# and J-# at the Naneestate Petting Zoo. He knew that
creature belonged on the Crest, as well posed by some B-# .
On the way back to the kingdom, the duke passed several citizens running for their lives
from the kingdom tax collector. As the Duke pointed to their hiding place, the tax
collector turned and H-# doffed his G-# hat in thanks. The Duke realized that
the hat was lined in A-# and D-# silk.
"Yes!", he exclaimed. "Those shall be the colors of the new Crest."
Later, Duke Joseph called all of the kingdom crier corps to a ceremony in the town
square where he read a proclamation that he copied from a book in the royal library. H
then unveiled a remarkable drawing of the new crest.
The King was displeased to hear of the Duke's latest activities. He reprimanded the
Duke for acting without his knowledge, again. He ordered J-#1 to escort the
Duke to a special facility at K-# . He spent the next few days gazing at a small
cage of A-# F-# G-# (pl)
as they H-# scurried about.
Sadly, he lined the cage with the drawing of his crest. For just a moment, he wept.
