The Health Care System for this Nation shouldn’t
be  a game-– but the Democrats have made it
just that and they’re playing it out in the halls of
Congress.  They’re very sly and they don’t play
fair.
Every American citizen must let them know
that we see and understand their shell game. We
won’t be fooled.

Eventually the Democrats will have a Bill– some
unholy amalgamation of assorted House and
Senate Bills. We are not distracted by fast talk
and slick motions. We know that this new
monstrosity will be created solely by Democrats.
Republicans will be excluded and with them
OUR VOICES.

They may say that this does not contain  a
government takeover of the insurance industry.
It will. It will be in disguise. They may hide it
behind a “trigger”. Watch closely. You can see
that any trigger they include is designed to be
easily pulled.

They’ll move the shells much too quickly for any
examination or debate. To silence
Republicans, the Democrats may use CLOTURE.
This parliamentary device requires 60 votes to
end debate. This will set the Bill up for an “up
and down vote” where only 51 votes will be
needed to pass it. Here’s where more sneaky
game-playing comes in. It will take ALL the Dems
to pass cloture.  So, all the so-called “Blue Dog”
or “Conservative” Democrats will take off their
white hats and drop the pretense that they are
doing the will of the people just long enough to
vote for cloture. Then, they’ll put their white hats
back on and vote AGAINST the Bill. They can.
Their leadership has told them they can because
their votes won’t be needed then. This will allow
these turncoats to return to their Conservative
states and districts to say “Don’t blame me. I
voted against it. You should still elect me in
2010!”   We don’t think so.

Call them now. Call every Democrat,
every Blue Dog, every left-leaning
Republican, every Independent.
You tell
them: “We’re not fooled by this shell game. You
will not get away with it. We’re not bamboozled
by a trigger. We are not interested in your
“compromises”. They are just more slight of
hand. We want reform that is real and direct. We
don’t want shells that conceal hidden taxes,
unwanted government control and expensive
and unnecessary NannyState programs.  We, the
people of the United States, are not suckers.  We’
re telling you that a Vote for Cloture IS a Vote for
the Bill. If you vote for Cloture, it doesn’t matter
how you vote on the Bill, you will be out. A vote
for any Democrat Bill at this point is contrary to
the will of the people. We will remember. You will
be out.”

The game is up.

Obama, Chicago and Cowboy Bush
Not all conservatives are cheering the Rio decision. I
love the Olympics. I’m proud when our country hosts
them. I am not happy with Brazil and the way it has
decided to play handmaiden to Zeleya and Chavez.. I
am not happy with many past statements Spain has
made about the US. I think the radical statements
about the climate made by Japan’s leader should
exclude that nation. I would have preferred a US
victory here, but I understand the misgivings the IOC
must have had.

We should all remember that this Olympic decision is
big business. The decision is the culmination of a lot
of research. Do you think that if I can find out that
many Obama associates are set up for tremendous
personal profit if Chicago had gotten the Games, then
voters on the IOC would know that, as well? Don’t you
think that those in charge of the scandal-ridden
Olympics would run as far as possible from this
potential for graft and corruption? If I can review the
remarkably weak attitudes about law enforcement and
criminal justice held by Obama’s Attorney General
and judicial and other appointees, don’t you think the
IOC can see that trend also? Don’t you think they are
fearful that the streets of Chicago will not be safe at
all after a few years of these policies? Don’t you think
that the IOC is aware that Obama’s policies have
weakened intelligence agencies to the point that can
very little to protect this country. Do you think it is a
secret that Obama seeks to disarm this nation and
dramatically lessen military strength. The IOC knows
that even though Obama has tried to weaken America
to put it on an even level with lesser nations, Jihadist
terrorists will still seek to destroy the United States
because it is part of corrupt Western culture. Do you
think these nations want to send their athletes,
tourists and leaders to a country that still has a
bullseye on its back but has been undergoing a
process of weaking of all defenses? No of course not.
Above all they want a secure location. It is Obama’s
own words and actions that have shown them that will
not be possible here. Sadly, Obama’s hubris did not
allow him to see this. He truly thought his Charisma
factor could counteract all negatives.

Obama really thought that not being Bush would be
enough. Again, his hubris did not allow him to
correctly read the situation. Had George Bush been
the President overseeing this, we might very well have
won the bidding war for the Olympics. Some world
leaders may have thought George a “cowboy” and
they may have hated him- but they respected- some
even feared him. They would have at least considered
Chicago, trusting that a nation shaped by the
“Cowboy’s” policies would have been a safe nation
and one protected from external attacks and able to
control internal crime.  By Comparison, what Obama
offered was an immature and inexperienced leader,
willing to sacrifice security for popularity.

In 1966 Star Trek Premiered on NBC

Commentary: Whenever I think of Star Trek, I
remember a story that  I saw William Shatner share
on a talk show years ago. He was commenting on
how dismal the ratings had been for Star Trek as it
originally aired for three seasons. He went on to say
that he really understood the importance of what was
considered a flop when he caught a cab in New York
City. The driver recognized him instantly. The cab
driver told Shatner that he had been a POW in
Vietnam. He and a few others were kept in a tank of
water for years. To pass the time and retain their
sanity the prisoners had remembered and then
re-enacted every episode of Star Trek.

Entertainment is so important. It can rescue us from
horrible circumstances. Yet, I wonder if a similar
situation were to happen today, what show could our
troops select? There are some, but most episodic TV
today would not fit the bill. Most of what is produced
today is only partially intended as entertainment. It
seems that more and more what is produced is
actually intended to serve as a Trojan Horse for a
liberal political agenda. And moreover these
concealed sermons are usually delivered with more
than a little snideness and nastiness.

It's hard to imagine American troops finding much
escape such programing. .-sjm

More on SchoolGate...
"Political Pedophilia" - Too Much?
term "political pedophilia " in reference to Barack
Obama's PR incursion into America's school system.
Of course I have no intention of linking the President to
sexual predators, but my analogy was sound and I'm
into socialism rank and file citizens. Finding himself
unable to consummate that conversion, he has set his
sights on their young- only POLITICALLY, of course.
Nonetheless- it is still quite disturbing.

Yes, all the talking heads admonish Conservatives for
over-reacting to what turned out to be seemingly
wholesome. Naturally it was harmless. Obama had a
whole holiday weekend to make it so. Only an idiot
would have gone with Plan A in the face of public
outcry. Whatever this man may be, he is no idiot.

Further-no one should be lulled into a sense of
security because Obama delivered -what is being
described as a "conservative message". That really
doesn't matter. This is what matters:
1. He had the nerve to attempt school indoctrination in
the first place.
2. He may have been forced to alter his message but
he succeeded in establishing the mechanism for this
kind of activity and he was at least partially successful
in establishing a precedent of acceptability for this
level of propaganda generation.
3. In this action Obama initiates a very nasty
manipulation. Like any good con artist he uses the
honesty and naiveté' of others to his advantage.
We've all observed more and more young people at
Town Halls expressing grave concern for their future.
An increasing number of children are experiencing
stress and worry about the future. They see the panic
in their parents- they see family prosperity dwindling.
Obama sees it, too. He knows that young people are
becoming aware of the growing deficit and the fact
that the "land of economic opportunity " may not exist
for them. He knows that American kids are starting to
realize that his policies may rip the American Dream
away from them. So Obama makes a preemptive
strike. He BEGINS what will be a long term
propaganda project to appeal to the basically good
nature of America's youth. He will emphasize sacrifice
and responsibility to them over and over again. Those
are wholesome images, yes, but Obama's goal is to
influence these kids to the extent that they stop
questioning the grimness of the future he offers them.

American kids will do anything to save a dolphin or a
polar bear.  Always the masterful politician, Obama
will capitalize on this. He and his machine will
dedicate themselves to ensuring that America's youth
will only feel guilty if they express a desire for
prosperity or concern for a future where it is
unattainable. Most importantly, Obama intends that
students will lose respect for a parent who is "selfish"
enough to complain about excessive taxes,
unemployment or significant financial reverses.
America doesn't realize it yet- but Obama struck the
first blow on September 8th. He is well on his way to
persuading American kids to condemn any adult who
speaks out against the President or goes to a Town
Hall Meeting or Tea-Party.

Hoping the youngsters will be more compliant and
gullible the Obama will reach into every American
classroom to lure the students into devotion to his
presidency.

Its creepy.

It would be as creepy if any American President,
regardless of message, attempted such a blatant stab
at mass propagandising. It is especially so for this
President who has been so remarkably political and
partisan. This President has shown an extraordinary
lack of tolerance for any dissenting voice. If there is
suspicion about his intentions in forcing his words
upon America's youth, he has earned every bit of it.

What do we do about it? Let's make September 8th
even more important. Let's declare it "Visit the Kids At
School Day". Go there. Be There. Be along side your
child, grandchild, niece or nephew. Just go as a
concerned citizen. Just Go. Be there for every bit of
this little PR effort. The teacher's remarks- before and
after. Accompanying assignments, projects and other
videos. Do this for it is the only way we will know
exactly how the minds of America's youth will be
molded that day. Only then will we know how to
combat it.

A message to America's businesses: Today it is open
season on business and industry on these shores.
Take some positive action to defend yourselves. Start
by giving parents some paid time off to go to the
schools of their children.

Children have rights, too. They have the right to a
political opinion. Like the rest of us, kids hope that
Obama as Commander in Chief succeeds. And like
the rest of us, kids have the right to turn their backs on
Obama's political agenda.

Let's swarm America's schools on September 8th to
defend our children from propaganda and to protect
ourselves from yet another intrusion into territory that
should be politics-free in a free America.

In 19 20 the 19th Amendment Was
Approved Giving Suffrage to Women

Commentary: Many who discuss this event are
granted the vote in this country.
 Many modern
women are actually angry. I am not angry. I can see
new country would send men out of the home to
farm or hunt or work. Women would be left in the
home to nurse the children and to cook and clean
convenience. It was the men who would encounter
the social and political issues of the day. It was the
men who would be out of the home and attending
town hall meetings and the like. I am not saying it
was right. I'm saying that's how it was. I'm also
suggesting that the amount of time it took to rectify
the situation was more about resistance to change
than it was about deliberate malice toward women.

Be that as it may, the most important consideration
for us today is to jealously protect that progress that
we have made in establishing true equality for our
citizens- women and men. That is why I am
absolutely dismayed to see efforts to bring Muslim
Shari Law into our American legal system. This
code treats women as little more than chattel.
American Equality may have been sluggish in its
evolution, but it is established and it is real.

Shari Law is draconian and backward in the way
woman are viewed and treated. American women
and men must stand beside Lady Justice as she
guards every courthouse door from this insidious
enemy to women's rights. .-sjm

In 1776, The Continental Congress
agreed upon the terminology Unite
States rather than "United Colonies"

Commentary: If life under Obama teaches us
anything at all, it teaches us that words can be
powerful tools. However, while Obama seeks to
use words as shields or bludgeons, our founders
were seeking the words that were the truest- that
conveyed meanings with unbridled honesty and
universal understanding. They dismissed the word
"colony" as it implies ownership by another nation.
They replaced it with "States" .Added to "United".,
those two words told the world that this country is
one cohesive nation made up of many territories-
each with sovereignty.

This also tells us that our founders were not
guided by the lust for power that always marks
those who seek to create an all-powerful,
all-devouring federal government. No, there is no
sign of such avarice or ambition among our
founders- only the sure conviction that
government is most successful when it is closest
to the people.-sjm

In 1935 the Swastika became the
official symbol of Germany

Commentary:  Nazi Party members were called by
Hitler to come to Nuremberg on this day to
"formalize"  activities that had been taking place.
Primarily it was rampant abuse and mistreatment of
Jews that was addressed. Theses so-called
Nuremberg Laws stripped Jews of German
citizenship. At this time, the Swastika that Adolf
Hitler, himself, had developed as a symbol for the
fledgling Nazi Party years before  replaced the
national flag for all intents and purposes. I can't
imagine that most Germans really hated the Jews
and wished their termination, nor do I believe the
German people wished to surrender their flag. This
is an object lesson. A downtrodden people in the
throes of economic meltdown and under the spell of
a dynamic, forceful and charismatic leader will
submit to things they never would have thought
possible. -sjm

Joe Wilson,The Man of the Hour
As I listened to the President's speech the other night I
took notes. It helps to remember the Obama's words
but more importantly it keeps me awake.

During the course of my note taking I had occasion to
scribble the word "lie" with some frequency in the
margins. I can't imagine that I could have held out as
long as Wilson did. I for one admire his restraint.

This President and his cohorts have behaved with
such an arrogance- such a snideness, it's amazing
there have not been more incidents of this nature.
Anybody involved in politics can describe the
incredibly high levels of frustration in dealing with
something like ObamaSpeak. It is an intolerable
mixture of the incessant parsing of words,  thinly
veiled sarcasm,  snide asides, insults wrapped in faint
praise, and half-truths lurking amid bold prevarication.

When Obama says that illegal aliens will not be
covered in his ObamaCare proposal, he says it in
ObamaSpeak. That means it requires interpretation.

Obama says they are not specifically covered. True.
HOWEVER, the proposed law prohibits care
providers from asking for proof of citizenship or from
discriminating against ANYBODY.  The net result of
this is that illegals
will be covered! Wilson responded
as he did because he translated the ObamaSpeak
into real English thereby revealing it as-yes- an
outrageous lie.

To say it out loud in the chamber during the speech
may have been rude. And the RNC probably had no
choice but in engineering an apology. But let us all
keep track of the two essential elements here:

Wilson's eruption was not rooted in malice but in
frustration and a passion for the truth. And Obama
was deliberately playing games with the language in
an unmistakable effort to mislead not only the
American people but their representatives in the
Congress. Now that is much more than rude!

families at the time and I had the honor of seeing so
much quiet courage firsthand.

There are countless lessons of service woven
through the events of that day like threads in a
tapestry. We had a President who served us
throughout those days with uncommon calm and
leadership.

Today George Bush is assailed constantly. Radio
and TV Host Glenn Beck condemns him constantly.
The White House berates him almost as frequently.
We don't need to claim that Bush was perfect but we
can -at least on this day- remember all that he did
that was right. Even when Bush told us after that
horrible day to "go shopping" He was right. During
the recent campaign both John McCain and Barack
Obama sternly criticised Bush for those words, both
saying he had missed an opportunity to call
America to volunteerism. What garbage!

Firstly, Americans did not need to be organized into
some Peace Corps type of service in the wake of
this attack. They instinctively did exactly as they
should have. They safeguarded their families, they
supported their troops. Bush was brilliant in his
instruction "to shop". He was telling us that this was
not like a military attack on a military objective, but
that this was an attack on our very way of life. He was
telling us not to hide but to let these terrorists see
that they had failed. We were not beaten. We were
still Americans refusing to change the course of our
days- still going to work and school and yes-
shopping.

So today in yet another way to belittle President
Bush, President Obama is continuing that election
attack on Bush by making this a day of "service"
and volunteerism. Keep it. I don't need to be
instructed. I have benchmarks of selfless service
and courageous dedication far beyond anything the
White House PR factory could provide.

I do think of President Bush who shepherded us
through dark days, filling us all with courage.

I think of all those who were lost that day and I think
of all those who were heroes that day. I think so often
of  police officers entering an inferno without
hesitation. I think of firefighters climbing a fiery,
endless stairwell never to return. -sjm
Industrial Average Fell 777.68 Points, the
Greatest Drop to Date.

Commentary
: I can recall how the complexion of
the Presidential race dramatically changed after
this economic meltdown. It is a rule that always
seems to hold true: if the economy goes bad, the
Party in office will be turned out. Bad timing- you
say?An unfortunate coincidence? I, for one, think
not.

The massive drop that happened on this day was
Mutual and to a greater extent, Lehman Brothers.

Although there are multiple spins about what
actually precipitated this, at the time statements
were made by Treasury Department that
Bernanke, Paulson and Geithner had "let it go".
That's right then head of the Federal Reserve
Timothy Geithner refused Lehman Brothers', A
financial services firms, request to become a
commercial bank. And then as the desperate
hours ticked by before bankruptcy filing, Geithner
could not be reached by Lehman Brothers. He
could not be reached by anyone. During the
greatest crisis to date, he was completely missing.

So, without assistance, the financial giant tumbled
and so did the Dow and so did the last two months
of Bush's economy.

The funny part: Golman Sachs, another financial
services giant  similar to and the largest
competitor to Lehman Brothers was in the same
situation, Geithner allowed them to save
themselves by becoming a commercial bank.

Add to that the fact that Paulson who also was
complicit in allowing Lehman to fail was close to
Golman Sachs and had been its head honcho. In
fact there are many in the current Administration
with close and lucrative ties to Golman.

Of course the most significant fallout from this
corrupt mess is that the economy melted at the
most fortuitous time and the men who were at the
helm are now reaping their rewards.

assailed, it behooves us to remember our origins.

Those who refuse any allusion to America  as
"special" have forgotten how special our "birth"
really was.

The so-called pilgrims or puritans that traveled to
these shores on the Mayflower may have not been
any more hungry for freedom than those on any
shore- but that pathway to it was unique among all
nations. Freedom did not evolve here as it had in
ancient countries. Freedom landed here, brought
with great deliberation by travellers from afar.

The basic way we live and govern ourselves did
emerge from centuries of royalty or dictatorship. No,
quite to the contrary, people stood on these shores
and built a society based in our shared precepts of
rights balanced with responsibility.

This Country is and always has been special.  In all

United States was only a bargaining chip and a stepping

Obama's recent actions in shelving missile defense plans
in Eastern Europe marked us as weak- not only in what

have had American troops in Afghanistan  begging for air

demonstrated that they do not understand the significance
of the war or how to fight it. We appear weak.

This administration has displayed great weakness in
dealing with Iran as they continue to align themselves with
anti-western forces and steadily march toward a nuclear
capability that they will surely use against Israel, our
one-time ally that now views us as weak.

Obama has requested- no demanded- dramatic cuts in
our own nuclear arsenal from the pentagon. Obama
rejected their first recommendations because they did not
eliminate enough of our weapons strength. Obama,
addressing this in consort with the UN , states that US
must eliminate its own weapons first in order to persuade
the rest of the world to follow suit. Weak and stupid.

At it's "climate change summit" in Copenhagen, the UN
has announced that it will be pushing hard for radical
changes in "rich" nations  and they are counting on Barack
Obama for strong support. They'll get it. The goal here is to
redistribute wealth from the US to third world nations. Our
President will lead the way.

Obama is set to be the first United States President to
serve as President of the United Nations Security Council.
He's getting closer to his goal.

Note, that Obama stresses that regulation of our economy
and monetary system must be global. He means it. Don't
expect to see the dollar used internally. Don't be surprised
at how well Obama will take this humiliation. He and
Geithner will find many ways to rationalize it.

It's a pattern and its a plan. Obama has referred to himself
as a "citizen of the world". Soon he will be able to upgrade
mere citizenship to the role of ruler.

It has been the commercial aspect of commercial

While the Canons of Journalism were the yardstick
for fairness and integrity, the people were the final
arbiter. When a newspaper failed to deliver news

However, the Canons of Journalism are all but

However, the Canons of Journalism are all but

Newspapers blame the Internet for replacing them.
To an extent this is true- but with so much
misinformation on the Internet a newspaper with a
sterling reputation for integrity and fairness would
still do well.

As it is, Obama's newsprint playmates are in
trouble. So, Democrats are introducing a Bill in

never see newsprint again.

Historical Perspectives:
On September 21, 1776 Nathan Hale
was hanged

Commentary:  American Captain Nathan Hale was
hanged by the British in New York City. Prior to his
execution Hale said, "My only regret is that I have
but one life to give for my country."

These immortalized words have come to represent
the selfless sacrifice of a patriot.

The words sacrifice and service are used frequently
by the current President.  I believe that the service
and sacrifice so oft- mentioned in White House
talking points has little to do with Hale's courageous
acts.

Surely the decision to choose open rebellion easy
one. Every person who made the choice to join
openly in revolutionary activities against the
extremely powerful and wealthy Great Britain did so
Surely the decision to choose open rebellion at
great personal risk. Every person who did so knew
against the motherland could not have been an that
their property and even their very lives could be lost.
It was an action of remarkable courage, sacrifice
and service.

When President Obama speaks of sacrifice, it is not
steeped in Courage as was Hale's- it is a sacrifice
forced upon us and not of our choosing. It is a
sacrifice produced in a totalitarian fashion and any
patriotic courage attached to that sacrifice is also
manufactured, after the fact, by the President.

Obama's concept of service is also at great
variance with Hale's. Hale's service was born of
necessity- answering the call to provide the service
most desperately  and urgently needed. The
Obama idea of service is more like a public
relations effort, born not of urgent need but as part of
a convoluted political agenda. More importantly, it
is packaged more as service to Obama and his
programs than as general service.

Note that Nathan Hale talked about giving his life
for his country, not for General Washington. But of
course George Washington did not devote great
efforts to cajole the press and artists of his day into
constantly serving up his name and image.

anti-western forces and steadily march toward a nuclear
capability that they will surely use against Israel, our
one-time ally that now views us as weak.

Perspective on History:
Sousa Band made its first public
appearance

Commentary
:  There are very few
expressions of American patriotism that can
match hearing Stars and Stripes Forever.  I
wonder how well Sousa would be received if he
were to be presenting his music today. Yes,
he'd be an underground sensation at Tea
Parties, but he be invited to play at the White
House? I think not.

Sousa's forthright pride in this country is in
stark contrast to this administration's
incessant efforts to diminish the stature of this
country and the pride of her people.
Especially children in America are being
robbed of this joyous feeling of pride. They
may never have tears come to their eyes as
they hear Sousa's rousing music and that is
terribly sad.

for Conservatives on the Front Line:

When our President, the White House and the
the citizenry in a difficult position,  We the
appalled that our Federal Government is acting
as it is in Honduras.

We have researched the Honduran Constitution.
It is clear. FORMER President Zeleya was in
clear violation of it. There is no doubt that he
was making efforts to subvert the Constitution
and the will of the people so expressly stated in
it. It is a strictly written and conceived section
that Zelaya attempted to trash. Very plainly it is
stated that no person who has served as
President can be President again. This
measure was set into place by the Hondurans
with great deliberation to protect them from
Chavez and Ortega style "strong men"
dictators. The government acted in good faith
to uphold its Constitution against the actions of
a leader who had become increasingly bold in
efforts to copy the reign of Chavez.

It is a shameful day for all Americans that our
government has taken the part of a totalitarian
Marxist against the forces that fight for
democracy.

We will be investigating courses of action that
we can take to help the freedom loving
Hondurans to combat the victimization by our
own government.

abilities to persuade Iran to see things his way.

Secondly, the call for the expanded school year
is not off the cuff. Obama is in deadly earnest
that this will happen and he knows it will take
some time to put in place.
The pattern that this fits within is one of
persuasion of America's youth. It is no
coincidence that Obama's statement follows
his own nationwide school speech which
accomplished his entry into the curriculum, as a
personality. The "children singing hymns to
Obama" video confirms efforts to create a cult
of personality for Obama. Every day we learn
more about how much the national curriculum is
under the influence of Obama's social agenda.
So, it is logical. Obama and his people can see
that there is some anti-Obama sentiment
growing among adults. The only way to make
sure that sort of thinking does not infect the
children, every effort must be made to make
sure that children spend as little time as
possible with family and adults outside of the
Obama-controlled school system.

And of course, as he does, this is a way to
replay political cronies, leaders of theTeachers
Unions, who will profit and benefit greatly
through this enlargement of their empire. So
dramatically expanding the time kids spend in
school means that already self-absorbed and
apathetic parents will have to spend even less
time, trouble and expense worried about the
care of their children. Such an attitude is
tailor-made to accept an intrusive welfare state
and you can bet the Administration will nurture it.

Bottom line: This is a tug of war. It is a battle for
the control of malleable young minds. Obama
smiles affably as he gives the rope one ruthless
yank.
