Daily Fix

We weren’t prepared for this. We thought we knew what liberals were. We had an image in our minds.
We saw liberals as hippies that never grew out of the phase. Liberals were people who saw a large and
intrusive government as the solution to every problem and the cure to every social ill. We thought that
liberals hate business and view it largely as an evil robber of the poor. We saw liberals as haters of war
and of actions that would curtail illegal immigration and be too hard on the criminal element.
Although the face of liberalism has become collectively more strident and nasty since 9/11, still we thought
liberals were misguided but benign- caring of humanity.
There is a new faction of liberalism. It is not so benign. So different in tone is this new liberalism from the
tone of the over-the-hill-hippy liberal that America is having some difficulty processing it. But process it we
must, for New Liberalism has a profound influence on the current White House.
New Liberalism is based in a strange dichotomy. New Liberals want government programs to care for the
every need of the people. New Liberals are also realistic enough to see that funding this massive
government is going to be extremely difficult and stripping the wealthy of their money will not do it. New
liberals believe that the other half of the equation is to streamline the people. This so-called health care
reform is basically a battleplan for that streamlining process. The new Liberals have taken off their
headbands and replaced their peace signs with another hand gesture. Unlike original hippies who
disdained materialism, for New Liberals it is all about the money and funding the program. This priority
trumps all others.
Therefore, it is acceptable that the goal of using health care reform as a device to streamline the American
people. The myriad of programs in HR3200 for example if all followed to their logical conclusions will
produce a young, productive American people, free of illness, defect, age or disease. It will then be
possible and affordable for the government to cover the needs of this new, improved populace.
We must come to terms with this New Liberalism that is not guided by hazy cloud of love and peace but by
cold, hard utilitarianism. New liberals are not being secretive. A little research reveals their plan of action:
discourage the birth of babies in general and vigorously invest in all research and practice that will identify
potential health problems, defects and disabilities in human fetuses so that action can be taken to be sure
that those babies are not born. This is nothing personal to New Liberals. It is simply necessary action to
keep future health care costs down. Next the plan calls for culling out existing persons who are too
expensive to maintain. The many New Liberal initiatives that appear on the surface to be only efforts at
controlling human behavior can also be used to usher the expensively unwell, disabled and unfit and
elderly, more quickly along the road to death. Again, nothing personal. This is all about costs and
productivity.
Even traditional liberals are dismayed. The New Liberals are alien to the traditional liberals. They don’t
oppose war because killing is wrong. They pick and choose wars to support based on political
expediency. They don’t love everybody, only those who can produce for the cause. They don’t support
freedom of speech, but rather communication that is sculpted and contained. Traditionals are confused
and worried.
We, Conservatives, may defeat the New Liberals in this single health care battle, but that victory will stand
alone if we do not learn now how to recognize and understand the New Liberalism. Their NanyState is by
invitation only.

Daily Battlefield Communiques for Conservatives on the Front Line:
I saw Barack Obama cowering behind the shadow of George Bush yesterday- again. As we watch him
for this collapse to his predecessor, but then, he has a lot of help in this regard from surprising
sources.
I believe it is fashionable - a bit of a fad- the cool thing to do- to include George Bush in the blame
game for this mess. We hear it from Libertarian and conservative pundits and "broad-minded
Republicans. The Newt's of the world jump on the bandwagon readily.
All the third-party-power-wanabees cannot resist the temptation to roast a donkey and a
pachyderm on the same grill. But is wrong. It is giving Obama cover he does not deserve and,
again it is wrong. I for one will not parrot this mantra just because it is in vogue. I have often disagreed
with Bush. But the truth is the truth. He did a masterful job with the economy after 9-11. Even though
he had to maintain entitlement programs that he did not start- like Medicare and social security for a
Baby Boom generation exploding into them for the first time under his term, - and even though he
maintained a war on terror of a scope and expense that this nation has never seen and maintained
two standard wars, and even though our country was hit by a devastating hurricane, George Bush did
make visible efforts to contain his own discretionary spending and did oversee an economy
remarkably stable.
I've said it before and I'll repeat: Bush's biggest flaws were his failure to "sell" his actions to the
American people and to be politically naive. When someone like Barack Obama talks about
nonpartisanship, it is only feel-good rhetoric. Bush on the other hand actually practiced it. Allowed
many partisan Democrats into his administration because he believed that they would put Country
ahead of Party. He was very, very wrong when it came to some people involved with the Treasury and
Federal Reserve. Obama devotees like Geithner and Summers and Paulson took actions and gave
counsel that led directly to the surprising and oh-so-conveniently timed economic problems that gave
the election to Obama. No, It was not an accident. And although the original TARP was ill-advised, it
was not designed nor intended by Bush to be more than a short-termed loan, nor was it the first time
the government had stepped in in a temporary way, not intended to open the door to socialism, eg the
steel and airline industries.
No, ALL of these self-serving voices must stop now enabling Obama to share his guilt with Bush.
Bush dropped the patient off with a sore toe. The Obama administration has subjected the patient to
dozens of unneeded major surgeries and pumped him full of hundreds of strong, harmful drugs. The
patient is now near death and the Obama doctors tell us they will put "sore toe" as the cause of death
on the death certificate.
You only have to read my other writings to know that I am a strong critic of the Republican Party, so I
do not make this pleading for partisan reasons. It is for the good of the nation that I beg all of you out
there who begin every condemnation of Obama's fiasco with a condemnation of Bush, Stop. Just
Stop. Obama doesn't need your help. If you want to achieve your own goals by continually trashing
both parties equally, please find another avenue. This is the time to save our country- and fracturing
his opposition is not the way--sjm

EMERGENCY ALERT: The monitoring staff reports that
recent statements by Representative Alan Grayson,
Democrat from Florida, has put the meters into overdrive.
Monitoring reports cite the recent outburst of Rep. Joe
Wilson, Republican of South Carolina. During a Speech
before a Joint Session of Congress deliverd by President
Obama, Wilson, overcome by frustration, had blurted out
"You lie". Although, it had later been found that the
President's statement had been untrue, Wilson had
immediately apologized to the President. However, Leader
Pelosi nonetheless decided that, despite critical and urgent
issues, the US House should take a day to trash and
condemn Wilson.
Now, compare Wilson's unpremeditated exclamation to the
statements made by Grayson, during session. Grayson
accused all Republicans of wanting people to die and to die
quickly. He equated all Republicans to Nazis by describing
their opposition to ObamaCare as a "Holocaust". Grayson
had charts as proof of his premeditation. His presentation
included many, many personal insults to Republicans. Since
that time, Grayson has publicly made several other extremely
derrogatory remarks about Rebublicans/Conservatives.
How does leader Pelosi respond when a fellow Dem

punishment- not even an apology! Unspeakable Hipocrisy!

The Health Care System for this Nation shouldn’t be a game-–
but the Democrats have made it just that and they’re playing it
out in the halls of Congress. They’re very sly and they don’t
play fair. Every American citizen must let them know that we
see and understand their shell game. We won’t be fooled.
Eventually the Democrats will have a Bill– some unholy
amalgamation of assorted House and Senate Bills. We are not
distracted by fast talk and slick motions. We know that this
new monstrosity will be created solely by Democrats.
Republicans will be excluded and with them OUR VOICES.
They may say that this does not contain a government
takeover of the insurance industry. It will. It will be in disguise.
They may hide it behind a “trigger”. Watch closely. You can
see that any trigger they include is designed to be easily pulled.
They’ll move the shells much too quickly for any examination
or debate. To silence
Republicans, the Democrats may use CLOTURE. This
parliamentary device requires 60 votes to end debate. This will
set the Bill up for an “up and down vote” where only 51 votes
will be needed to pass it. Here’s where more sneaky game-
playing comes in. It will take ALL the Dems to pass cloture. So,
all the so-called “Blue Dog” or “Conservative” Democrats will
take off their white hats and drop the pretense that they are
doing the will of the people just long enough to vote for
cloture. Then, they’ll put their white hats back on and vote
AGAINST the Bill. They can. Their leadership has told them
they can because their votes won’t be needed then. This will
allow these turncoats to return to their Conservative states
and districts to say “Don’t blame me. I voted against it. You
should still elect me in 2010!” We don’t think so.
Call them now. Call every Democrat, every Blue Dog,
every left-leaning Republican, every Independent. You
tell them: “We’re not fooled by this shell game. You will not get
away with it. We’re not bamboozled by a trigger. We are not
interested in your “compromises”. They are just more slight of
hand. We want reform that is real and direct. We don’t want
shells that conceal hidden taxes, unwanted government
control and expensive and unnecessary NannyState
programs. We, the people of the United States, are not
suckers. We’re telling you that a Vote for Cloture IS a Vote for
the Bill. If you vote for Cloture, it doesn’t matter how you vote
on the Bill, you will be out. A vote for any Democrat Bill at this
point is contrary to the will of the people. We will remember.
You will be out.”
The game is up.

Hungry Politicos Turned Their
Eyes to Iowa for RPI Fall Event

One of the best things about being a political observer in the State
of Iowa is the National impact of intra-state and intra-Party matters.
Case in point- the RPI's Leadership for Iowa event in Des Moines
Saturday night. I was invited to join Bloggers Row at the event and
have a few insights to share. Readers from all quarters can find
valuable clues in the Treasure Hunt for the Reaganesque Hero who
will save the day, the country and the world in 2012. I refer not only
to the words of Presidential hopeful of Tim Pawlenty, event keynoter.
Public opinion and attitude in Iowa will have a crucial role in that hunt
and how they relate to gubernatorial, congressional and senatorial
candidates give great insight into the Treasure Hunt.
Pawlenty...
seemed cool in the heat of the spotlight. His humor attempts were a
bit stilted- a more natural approach should come in time. He hit all
the major notes in the conservative scale and I was pleased to see
that. I understood his motivation for ending his remarks in a brief
sermonette about the importance of Party unity following disputed
Primaries.
. Any Republican activist has probably had occasion to preach such
words but I think that leaving them as the final impression in Iowa may
not have been his wisest choice. If Governor Pawlenty wants to be the
next Party Chairman, the robes of a McCainlike peacemaker might be
the perfect wardrobe choice. But if Governor Pawlenty wants to be
considered for the job of President, he’d better start wearing the garb
of a warrior. Americans are scared and Republicans are no different.
They want a fire-breathing, powerful, persuasive, take-no-prisoners
leader who speaks with a conviction that has no sign of faltering or this
The Invisible Candidates...
We bloggers had hoped to have a few moments with the gubernatorial
hopefuls at Leadership for Iowa. It was somewhat disappointing that
the candidates did not materialize (see the turgid but amusing Ballad
of Bloggers Row following). Each candidate did address the crowd.
One thing is clear- all the trains are headed to the same depot: The
lower-taxes-less-government-growth-through-free-enterprise-
conservative-social-values one. There are some differences in the
route each would take, but in lieu of probing interviews, I’ll just assess
the persona of each, as he appeared to me:
Rants: The Feisty, Fearless Pragmatist
Roberts: Dignified Conservative Leader
Fong: Business and Economy Powerhouse
Branstad: Iowa’s Seasoned Problem Solver
Vander Plaats: Christian/Conservative Firebrand
Behn: Solid, Main Street Conservative
I did have the opportunity to interview some congressional and State
office candidates. Comments on those will appear in the next few days.
The Ballad of Bloggers Row We came from distant outposts to be at Bloggers Row And sat with pens already or laptop screens aglow Those who would be Governor would come as we were told So we wrote up pithy questions to elicit words of gold And we waited and we waited and then we waited more While some other candidates made the trip across the floor But those who would be Governor? Never-not a one Did we look foreboding? Didn’t we look fun? Why did those six avoid us? I guess we’ll never know Many a compelling insight lay abandoned… Back on Bloggers Row- sjm

for Conservatives on the Front Line:
A Nation Of Laws? I Disagree!
On this darkest of days our President and his Attorney General
have a rare opportunity to express in tandem their contempt for
our country. They are injecting prisoners of war into our civil
legal system. They are doing it because they know already that
all confessions and evidence will be thrown out because of
arrested criminal would receive here. In short it will be a miracle
if these terrorists are not set free. Houlder and Obama know
this- have designed this. They think it will move them closer to
heading up a world government, It will please George Soros
and it will give them endless opportunities to criticize the Bush
Administration.
From this day on, they will wrap themselves in variations on the
theme: " We are a nation of laws".
We are a nation of laws. We are a nation of laws. I've heard it
over and over from Conservatives and liberals alike. It is uttered
as a solid and universally unquestioned truth. Allow me the
honor of questioning- no disagreeing.
We are a nation of people. We a nation of people the majority
of whom share values. These values are expressed by laws.
And-yes- we obey our laws while they exist but they exist at our
whim. Laws are not gods. They are our devices. Sometimes
they are imperfect devices. That is why we amend them. We
repeal them, overturn them, add to them, reinterpret them and
question them.
It is the "spirit" of our laws that guide us, not the statutes
themselves. We are not a nation of laws.
The laws did not demand that these terrorists be brought to our
shore for a courtroom spectacle. That was an Obamanesque
political move. To the contrary. There is a reason that terrorists
and war criminals have not been handled via the civil/criminal
judicial system. It is for the protection of the populace.
Americans on the battlefield cannot "mirandize" prisoners and
be victorious. If terrorists came to our shores and planted
bombs, not just in commercial buildings but in toy stores and
grade schools, "enhanced interrogation techniques" such as
water-boarding would not just be acceptable, they would be
demanded. The spirit of our laws dictates our protection.
A Nation of laws? Don't allow the leftists to hide behind this
slogan. We are a nation of people- people who will fight for their
freedom and their American values.- a people who will actually
fight against bad laws and bad lawmakers and an
Administration that betrays their interests.
Rather than of laws, I would like to say we are a nation of
Justice. However, I do not believe that justice will be done in
New York Courtrooms and it is our laws that will be used to
shield these terrorists against that justice.
What we are is a nation at risk.

Why Would Obama Risk a
Back Fire with Terror Trial?
Bringing terrorists into civilian court when they had already
been pipelined through the war criminal/military tribunal system
is so unbelievably stupid- everyone is asking “WHY?”
Sure, it will weaken and embarrass our country and embolden
our enemies. But I don’t think such factors, alone, qualify as
reasons for this latest move by Machine Obama. They are just
“side benefits”.
Both Obama and Houlder talk now with impervious confidence
about their belief that this will all end well. Obviously, this is
nothing but bravado. Empty bravado. Solid patterns of
behavior have been well established by this Administration. If
they are really confident that something is going to work: its
Obama’s idea- Obama’s baby-Obama takes the bows-
Obama’s in charge. When there is doubt that something will fly:
it is announced at a weekend, others are acting on their own-
Obama is not in charge- Obama’s not even in the loop.
Nothing could exemplify that policy better than this debacle.
This was announced on the onset of a weekend-Obama was
out of the country- Obama does a Pontius Plot and says that it
is all Houlder’s decision.
Therefore, it is obvious that Obama realizes this is fraught with
pitfalls. And even though it might produce tangential outcomes
that could lead to the criminal prosecution of Bush and
Cheney, it is incredibly risky. The chance that the terrorists
could get off easy or even walk is very real. So WHY? WHY
would Obama take the chance? The answer is that he has no
choice.
Obama campaigned with a bottomless pit of money and
influence behind him. That didn’t just happen. He made
promises. Promises to people like George Soros. Promises
he absolutely must keep. Promises such as his commitment to
close GITMO and to bring men who are terrorists to us but
heroes to Soros into the bosom of a judicial system that they
can play.
Just watch Obama’s eyes, face and body language when he
talks about this. He knows he just got handed a political hand
grenade with the pin pulled out. But he’s a pro. His bravado
will be good. He’ll talk about showing off American justice to an
America-hating world and reclaiming the “moral high ground”.
And the gullible Geraldo Rivera’s of the world will lap it up. But
Obama knows that the grenade will slip from his grasp at
some point and explode. That, he cannot avoid. The
“Sorosians” made him. They can break him.

Dictator of Italy
Commentary: Mussolini, formerly a socialist, had turned to
fascism, founding a newspaper and a political party to
advance that end. His Fasc ‘d Azione Combattimento
organization had become increasingly powerful and had
formed terror squads to eliminate Mussolini’s enemies.
Mussolini entered Parliament and in 1922, the Parliament
granted him some dictatorial powers for just one year. (His
reign lasted until 1943) At first had the support of Liberals in
parliament. With their help he established strict censorship
and changed the methods of election in 1925-1926, allowing
him he to dissolve all other political parties and assume
dictatorship. Using his total control over the press, he
gradually built up the legend of the "Duce, a man who was
always right and could solve all the problems of politics and
economics. Italy became a police state. He was merciless
and ruthless to those who opposed him, but few did oppose
his propaganda machine..
Mussolini took over the ministries of the interior, of foreign
affairs, of the colonies, of the corporations, of the army and
the other armed services, and of public works and was also
head of the all-powerful Fascist party and armed militia. All
media, education, and films were carefully monitored to
create the illusion that fascism was "the doctrine of the 20th
century that was replacing liberalism and democracy”.
Mussolini maintained incredible power and squashed
resistance but his regime proved to be corrupt, over-
centralized and inefficient.

Why Does Obama
Bow Before Other
Nations?
I do not hesitate to assign a darker motive to our President when I think
told that our country was great because it was free- that we were a
wealthy and successful country because our freedoms allowed and
nurtured that. He was told we were successful because we stepped on
others. He was told we were wealthy because we were ruthlessly
greedy. He believes that all to be true and that's why it doesn't bother
him to bow before the leader of another nation. However, I really don't
think that is WHY he does it. As I often say, the United States is merely
a political stepping stone to this man. He seeks world domination.
That's why kicking the USA down several notches and trashing the
economy is acceptable to him. No, he's still in campaign mode and he is
campaigning for President of the world. When he bows it is just another
campaign gesture for him- much like shaking hands or kissing babies!

Make Sure Your Senators
Understand the Tale of the Bucket
Here's a cautionary tale every Senator should understand:
Once upon a time a boy named Barry O brought a bucket up to THE
HIlL and he told the kids in his club, the blue Club that he wanted them
to take the bucket back to home camp and to force all the kids there
to drink it.
Whatever you say", they chorused.
But the smaller group, the Red Club thought that the bucket was
nothing but a disgusting, stinking pail of swill and sewage and
refused. The kids in the Blue Club kept harrassing the Red Club,
repeating over and over, "The home camp needs a bucket. You'll look
bad if you come home without a bucket. You have to help us make
this bucket more likeable.
So the earnest but stupid Red Club helped. They helped put pretty
ribbons to disguise the ugly bucket. They drain a little of the sewage
out and put some artificial floweres in in it. and just before they
reached thehome camp they helped the Blue Club Spray it with lots of
perfume so the home kids would like it. They all sent a messenger to
tell the home kids they'd have to buy the bucket now but wouldn't have
to drink it until later.
This made the kids at the Home Camp uneasy. They could smell that
bucket from miles away. And then they could see it It was huge and
horrible. It had Blue Kids dragging a handle on one side and Red
Kids dragging a handle on the other. Smelly, vile sewage slopped out
at every step. The Home Kids could not believe that they were going
to be forced to drink all that. They began throwing stones at all the
Kids.
"Wait" We only tried to make it better!" yelled a Red Kid.
So What! answered the Home Kids. "You're bringing it to us just like
they are!"
And so the angry Home Kids kept throwing stones and yelling until all
the Red and the Blue Kids and run away and left their clubs. Then
they kicked the bucket over.
The moral of the story is simple. If a bunch of jerks try to persuade you
to force a bucket of sewage on your constituents- just walk away. You
won't get any credit for trying to make it smell better.

AVOID AVATAR!
I’m a special effects fan so I was looking forward to AVATAR. However, I’ve read some reviews and have decided to
skip it. It seems that egomonster director James Cameron has spent $300 Million Bucks ostensibly to put humanity
down. The movie is a high priced sermon about evil military/industrial humans trying to destroy the far-advanced,
peace-loving blue folk so we can imperialistically grab their stunningly beautiful planet. Oh Please!! I have had enough
of this crap! It is spewing from everywhere now. All the self-important, I’m-too-cool-to-be-human sycophants who circle
around George Soros’s drain have their own offerings- Scientists who lie and fabricate to make Americans feel guilty
for being an advanced industrialized nation- journalists who think abortion is sacred because it eliminates earth’s
ultimate pest: a human baby. The entire liberal movement has become an anti-human movement. They are beating
optimism out of our children and squeezing the last vestige of hope from our elderly. And where can we go to escape?
To the movie theatre- to pay a small fortune to sit in a darkened room to be made to feel guilty and worthless, evil and
feeble because we are human beings? I don’t think so! One of my Christmas wishes this year is that at least American
Human Beings will show a little pride and backbone as they walk right by Avatar. Let’s give Cameron something real
over which to lose his legendary temper.- Sheila J. Murphy, Editor.

After years of pretending to belong to both Parties
and successfully playing both ends against the
Democrat partisanship revealed to the world.
Nelson's.
Nobody else is claiming so much ownership of this opus. I guess it's all Ben's.
He claims that he could still change his vote after the Report is issued reflecting input of
the House and Senate. There is little doubt that Pelosi's minions in the House will make
it as close to her liberal wish list as possible. There is a very slim hope Nelson will
change his vote. It is worth the effort of continued expressions of public will to Nelson as
well as all Senators and Representatives.
I believe the hope is so slim because Nelson has crossed a line- one of those lines
once crossed cannot be crossed again. His treatment of Nebraska Right to Life
exposed a political expediency behind his pro-life stance. I do not believe pro-lifers will
be fooled again.
I ordinarily like it when a duplicitous politician is unmasked. However, in this case I wish
it had never happened. The circumstances that facilitated this revelation will cost our
nation dearly.- Sheila J. Murphy, Editor
Why the Delay in Obama's Response
to the Christmas Day Bombing?
warrant holiday interruption. I don;t really think that is the case. Others believe the
delay stemmed from time spent in gathering information and careful preparation. If
you heard the statement, you know that was not the case.
December 28th at an Hawaii Marine base. Yep there it was the- the pencil-thin
moustache that Obama grows on the occasions when he wants a little
extra oomph with his diplomatic outreach to the Muslim community.
Obama delayed 3 days because it takes him that long to grow one.
Facial hair is protocol for Muslim males and I can see how Obama would think that
gesture would make his words more sympathetic.
Just as Michelle did not accompany him to Muslim lands, he has produced this
pencil-thin nod to the culture before. He will again. It is no new lesson to see how far
this President will go to ingratiate himself, as an individual leader, to other counties.
the new lesson for today is to identify the times when it is the growth of new sacial
hair and not briefings that produce sluggish delays in White House comminication.
