A Roar from the Right-
Battlefield Communiques for
Conservatives on the Front Line:

Again we see the American people receiving treatment at the
hands of the Democrat administration and congressional
leadership that is a remarkable mixture of the unethical, the
insulting and the downright terrifying. The astonishing lack of
integrity being displayed in the passage of the so called cap-
and-trade legislation is, sadly, only one example of what is
becoming a predictable pattern.

Our Representatives and Senators are sent to the Capitol to
act for us- to be us- to be our eyes and ears and voices. When
Nancy Pelosi and her minion will not allow our representatives
to read a Bill before forcing a vote on it, she is doing that to US.
When they introduce a huge amendment in the middle of the
night deliberately so that no one can read it or even make
others aware of it, THAT DISHONEST BULLYING IS BEING
DONE TO US.

So many people shake their heads at what “they” are doing in
distant Washington…. “Isn’t it terrible?", they say with a sigh of
helpless resignation.

Let’s take a new tack. Perhaps the answer is to make it as
“personal” as we can for the American people from here on.

Begin with this exercise:
Imagine that it is 3:00 in the morning.
You are jarred from a sound sleep by an insistent banging on
your front door. It is Nancy Pelosi. She has that look in her
eyes- you know the one I mean- the scary one. She is flanked
by large, hulking men who stand menacingly nearby. She
hands you bound manuscripts. There are a few of them. She
snaps at you, still half asleep.

“Sign this!” she shouts.

“What? What is it?” you gasp.

“You don’t need to know. You only need to know that the
President says this is going to make jobs and get rid of foreign
oil. It will give you structured government directives in every
area of your life to help you to live a GREEN life we all want. It
will allow us to undo all the horrible evil the United States has
done to the rest of the world in past decades. So Sign It NOW!”

“But I never sign anything I haven’t read.”

There’s no time-No TIME! This is a crisis we must act
TONIGHT!”

“But, Nancy, you said this has been going on for years. So why
do we have to do this right this minute? After decades, surely
there’s enough time to read this and talk about it.”

“YOU MUST BE A REPUBLICAN BECAUSE YOU OBVIOUSLY
DON’T WANT TO SAVE THE PLANET!” Now she is shrieking.

“No. No, that is not the issue. I just won’t sign this contract
without reading it. You don’t have the right to come in here and
bully me into supporting something I know nothing about. GET
OUT!”

She turns on her heel and marches to the door. She faces you
as she exits. “We don’t need you anyway. Plenty of my friends
believe in the Obama and have endorsed this without knowing a
thing about it- SO THERE! And when it’s approved you’ll have to
obey every single thing in it. I’ll make sure you NEVER get to
read it!’

You’re still groggy but you are pretty sure you can hear her
cackle as she reaches the street.

You are reeling. You’ve been invaded, insulted, bullied, lied to
and betrayed. This did not happen to some distant, faceless
politician. This happened to you.

Now, share this exercise with others.

If we do not stop the travesty of cap-and-trade, within the next
year or two, daily American life will change dramatically.
Industries and businesses large and small will all have begun to
collapse like dominoes, unable to shoulder the burdens of
malicious taxes and fees and draconian regulation. People will
live lives of dreary struggle trying to afford food, utilities,
housing,  transportation, and the like. Then- then it will be very
personal for everybody. It will also be too late.

in 1960 Fidel Castro nationalized Esso, Texaco
and shell Oil companies.

Commentary: After his taking power in the Cuban
government, Castro, his brother Raul and his
group of communist revolutionaries used a series
of laws and nationalization of commerce and
businesses, both foriegn and domestic.

Shell's refinery was a Brithsh holding and ESSO
and Texaco American concerns. Castro ordered
the three to refine oil for Soviet Russia. All three
refused. Castro "nationalized" all three and took
control of all activities. He nationalized banks and
other fionancial enterprises. He used "reform" laws
to wrest land ownership away from farmers and the
ownership of commercial and rental property
ownership away from businesses and private
citizens.

To even hear the words "nationalizing industry"
should make theblood of any American run cold.

The recent history of Cuba serves us as a clear
diagram. This is how it is done. This is how
freedom dies. -sjm

in 1776 The Continental Congressed resolved
that the individual colonies "are and of right
ought to be, free and independent states."

Commentary: The Founders of our nation
displayed remarkable wisdom s the forge  our
national structure that was a union of soverign
entities- colonies, then states.

On a pragmatic level, a collection of sovereign
states relieved form the federal framework the
crippling weight of excessive government function
thereby allowing that federal element to address
those functions that ONLY it could, such as a
common defense. Also, a state government could
much more effectively, efficiently and
economically serve the needs of the state's
people. Another implicit benefit in the union of
states structure is the fact that the sovreignty of the
states serves as the ultimate "check and balance"
to the power of the federal branch.

Strong and vigilant state governments may very
well be the last line of defence against a current
federal branch that is growing and usurping powers
at a monstrous speed.

Thank God for the foresight and wisdom of those
patriots of the past. -sjm

A 4th of July Prayer for Our Nation

As we head into this special weekend, sometime on Saturday or
Sunday, let's take a moment to pray for this nation.  No matter
what face or name God may wear in our eyes, let us all join
together, as Americans-

We turn to you as our Creator. We recognize that our human
rights are bestowed upon us by you. It is to you that we give
thanks for our individual liberty, freedom of choice and powers of
self-determination. We thank you also for this splendid land on
which we have built.

We do now and have for 233 years offered to you this country as
our living commitment to you that we will work and fight to protect
and nurture those precious gifts that you've given. But now, Lord,
our promise is in peril.

We ask your guidance and your strength as we struggle to protect
this young nation from those who are threatened by her
dedication to personal freedom.

Although we are not an organized religion, we are a nation
proudly and openly guided by your basic teachings of right and
wrong and of human liberty and dignity. We pray now that on the
birthday of the United States of America you will inspire and
embolden us that we might continue to shine a light in this world
as a just, good, free and strong nation. Amen

In 1775 George Washington Officially Took
Command of the Continental Army

Commentary: At the very core of the theory of our
governmental structure is the belief that States
should do as much as possible so as to allow the
Federal Government to do what it must do.
Forming a national army to provide defense is a
prime example. In these early days, no function
was of greater importance than to physically fight
back against forces that would prevent the
assertion of independence. Hence the inclusion of
the title Commander in Chief.

Never before- not even in the reign of Carter, have
I had such grave doubts that the man in the Oval
Office could carry that mantle. President Obama
has yet to give an indication that he understands
the true nature of a military engagement.

I'm troubled by his cavalier attitude toward
Afghanistan- his repeated implication that was the
"good" war and Iraq was "bad" and he was so
much smarter than Bush to pursue the good war.
His naiveté and failure to understand the
complexities of the region is astonishing.

Will he be able to manage and utilize military
strength to discourage military aggression by
ruthless North Korea?  Will Obama misuse our
military might to help Chaves Overpower
Honduras and add it to the new group the
Organization of MARXIST American States?

I cannot even imagine Washington aligning
himself with brutal thugs like Chaves, Ortega,
Zelaya and the Castros! -sjm

Ocassionally in this column we try to suggest a "call to
action". We all seem to be sharing the same
shell-shocked reaction to the ever-approaching danger-
the hovering threat of the demise of our way of life both
politically and culturally. We are scrambling for some way
to make a difference, Here's one way that you can help for
the next seven days. On our Front Page we introduce "The
Buck Stops with Barack Week". Please go there to read
all the details. You will see that we are offering an open
letter for petition-style signing.

The Obama Political Machine is attempting to bury us and
our elected representatives in so much government
function that we cannot even breathe- no less fight there
onslaught. Whenever someone does manage to launch a
small salvo against the Obama, they are most certainly
greeted with prepared sermons about how "everything is
Bush's fault". Our letter fights that strategy with a
tongue-in-cheek attitude and deadly precision. It is vogue
now for pundits to show equal contempt for both Parties
and  to inadvertently give Obama unlimited assists at
hiding behind Bush. Please read our letter for a unique
perspective and some points on the Bush years you may
not find anyway else. We can't stop Obama for trying to
lead our nation down the word to socialism and
totalitarianism, but we can make him own his actions.
Here,  also, is the link to our Open Letter. It is not just
important to show our vast numbers by as many as
possible signing , but we must also make this event know,
Send it to everyone you can think of- every press outlet you
can think of.  If we can create a buzz about this so loud it
can be heard in the White House, it will make an impact. If
the President is forced to take ownership for his own
agenda, he may also be forced to alter it.

July Also Marks the Birthday of the GOP

In July of 1854 the Republican Party Was Officially
organized.

I have been a registered Republican for many years.
Throughout all of those years I have never been shy about
criticising my Party as evidenced by my Maximum Murphy
column on the front page. I will consider to speak out
because that is what is needed for the good of my Party
and my Country.

However, I cannot countenance the new trend of
condemning both parties equally and demanding a
"throw-the-bums-out-we-need-a-third-party-or--no-
party" solution. For, at this time that attitude offers no
solution.

I make no claim that the GOP is perfect now or in its
recent past. Far from it. However, I do see that a great
majority of the Congressional members and leadership
have come to realize well the betrayalfelt by America when
they failed to fight against excessive government growth
and spending. They paid a high price for that, They
learned from that and they are trying to fight that fight now.
The thing to do now is to recognize and support today's
very important efforts.

Granted, the leadership is not there. The communication is
definitely not there and the Republican Party needs a
critical makeover in the way it views and runs campaigns
and the way it relates to the people of this country. These
are all attainable goals, if people remain engaged and
vocal within the Party. We cannot afford to leave a
vaccuum by abandoning the GOP now. It could be our
national undoing.
I, for one intend to spend some time in reflection on the
fine elements in the Republican Party's histroy present and
future. I will not throw the baby elephant out with the bath
water.- Sheila Murphy, Editor

In 1903 The Ford Motor Company sold its
first automobile, a "Model A"

Commentary: An Object Lesson
Yesterday, Ford reported a surprising profit. Although
somewhat attributable to onetime debt restructuring, Ford
executives point to many positive indicators within the
company.

Ford was savvy enough to secure credit when it was a
possibility. They avoided the gigantic bear trap of
"government assistance' and thereby avoided
bankruptcy.

Beyond all the nuances of corporate financial
machinations, the lesson here is crystal clear: For
commercial entities strong enough to resist the
siren-song of Obama policies there is still some hope-
hope for profit and success free of government
interference and control.

"Ford Tough" may have been a better slogan than I
realized.  -sjm

King the Courageous

Rep. Steve King of Iowa's "Fightin' Fifth District" stands alone
in opposition to ridiculous political correctness and DC
game-playing.

Yesterday we saw a rarity- a Congressional vote of 399 to 1.
The vote was on a resolution to have a marker appear in the
new Capitol Visitor Center stating that African-American
slaves were involved in the building of the structure. The
marker is to be made of stone quarried by slaves.

King states he has no objection to something acknowledging
the contributions of slaves, so why the lonely "no" vote?  King
gave an interview to Scott Voorhees, whose morning talk
show airs on KFAB in Omaha, Nebraska, to answer just that
question. (link                                                                  )     King
said that he had  come to the "end of his patience" in  dealing
with what he called "quid pro quo" deals on Capitol Hill.

King stated that the Architect of the Capital has been making
a determined effort to "scrub" the nation's capitol of any
reference to Christianity. According to King, the Architect has
gone so far as to refuse to give ceremonial flags with a
certificate that features the wording "In the Year of Our Lord".
He has scrubbed any mention of God from Congressional
chambers. King described the striking of a deal with the
Architect by which he would permit the display of the national
motto "In God We Trust" and the Pledge of Allegiance as
containing the word God in the new public building. In return
Representatives and Senators agreed to support the slavery
marker and to change the name of the Great Hall to
"Emancipation Hall".

King stated that his ancestor had fought for the abolition of
slavery and that he himself was a great admirer of Martin
Luther King.

"I would have been an abolitionist if I'd been alive then", said
King.

King expressed great concern about efforts to remove signs
of Christianity as that religion plays a very important role in
our history. King also suggested that when we remember the
645,000 slaves that came to this country we should also
member the approximate 600,000 Union soldiers who died,
most of them white, ostensibly to win freedom for slaves.

I am grateful to Voorhees for bringing the facts of this to light.
We all owe tremendous gratitude to Iowa's Congressman
Steve  King for having the courage to stand up for his
principles. We salute him, also,  for not yielding to the
insidious extortion that is practiced against anyone who is not
"politically correct", especially in the treacherous arena of
Washington race politics.

The major issue here, for me, is the role of the Architect. I will
be studying the position and the man who wields such power
through it. It disgusts me that our elected officials must go to
such lengths to preserve the inclusion of our acceptance of
God in our national culture. (Note:I had already written today's
historical commentary before learning of this. An interesting
connection...)

In 1942 Anne Frank, a 13 year old Jewish girl went
into hiding from the Nazis.

Commentary: Anne Frank and her family had lived, by
all accounts, a happy and ordinary life in Germany.
Shortly after Adolf Hitler and his Nazi administration
gained control of the German government, it became
clear to the Frank family that Jews were not only being
stripped of all rights and property but were in mortal
danger.

The Franks fled to Amsterdam in the Netherlands and
successfully resettled- until Nazi occupation followed
them. They were forced into hiding above Mr. Franks
offices. They were joined by a few others and remained
there until an unidentified informant led the Nazis to
them. They were sent to Auswitz concentration camp. A
few months later Anne and the rest of her family, except
her father were dead.

This is one of history's most frightening lessons. I'm sure
the Franks never expected to lose their freedom so
quickly-so completely. One day they are a happy family
and just monthe later they have lost everything.  The
German people thought they had a dynamic leader in
Hitler. They were not vigilant and they were much too
slow in recognizing the reality of their chosen leaders.
For that, the world still suffers.-sjm

In 1848 The First Women's Rights Convention is held
in Seneca Falls, NY.

Commentary: The suffragettes of yore must have had a
very simple and straightforward agenda- the rights of full
citizenship- the right to vote.

We find it difficult to understand how that could be. How
did it happen that men could vote and the women did
not? Were all the men prior to 1848 such chauvinist
animals? Some were, I'm sure, but many, I suspect
simply accepted the status quo without question. I also
suspect that the status quo came into being because of
the very brutal life demanded of all those who settled this
wild land.

Men had to face a dangerous and hostile environment to
find away to provide for families. It was seldom a path a
woman could take. The women had to stay at home. Only
the woman could nurse the babies. It was up to the
women to find ways to prepare food, do laundry and the
like, without convenience. Meanwhile, it was the men,
already out in the world that ended up attending town
meetings and voting. I don't think it was planned  as an
attack on women- as much as it was a status quo that
went without questioning- for a while.

I was in a little group talking about today's Conservative
leaders. The others agreed that four of the top five were
women. They seemed to not even to think gender was
worthy of mention as they praised the women's skills and
abilities. Did I mention that they were all men? We have
come a long way, baby!-sjm

So Many People to Pity...

In the wake of Obama's most recent comments, I find
myself feeling so sorry for so many.

1.) Senior Citizens who voted for Obama. So many
followed the guidance of AARP ( Dem/Liberal Lobby in
Disguise) and supported Obama. I imagine they were
beguiled by Obama's campaign era optimism and aura of
great concern for the welfare of senior citizens. I can only
imagine how they feel now knowing that the nice young
man who seemed so spiritual is actually worshiping at the
altar cold, utilitarian, ruthless expediency. How must it feel
to have used your vote for someone who considers you
unworthy to live because you cannot "produce" for his
central government.

2) Nancy Pelosi turned herself into a pretzel to get Barack
Obama elected and then to steam roll his agenda. I
believe that Obama's got his White House homeboys
revving up the Blame Bus. Very soon you will see Obama
hurling the unpleasant Pelosi right under that bus. She has
turned herself into an iron-fisted dictator to accomplish all
that Obama and his liberal handlers have expected of her.
Enter, sinking popularity numbers for the Obama. A
scapegoat is needed. Obama will discard her as readily
as he would any nonproductive person. In the next few
days, you will hear over and over again that ALL OF THE
LEGISLATION that Pelosi has shepherded through the
Congress is not only unpopular with Americans but a
TOTAL DEPARTURE FROM OBAMA'S WISHES AND
AGENDA. I promise- the White House will paint Obama
as a fiscal conservative betrayed by the big spending
Pelosi. I can see her pastel pant-suited limbs flailing about
as the Blame Bus takes her all the way down Pennsylvania
Avenue.

3) I feel so sorry for all the Americans who voted for
Obama because they honestly thought he would be a
healer and a unifier. The represented every race and
ethnicity and voted with the purest of intentions and the
highest of expectations. It must hurt to see his snide,
sarcastic tone, his cocky glibness in discussing volatile
matters and his willingness to arouse any kind of friction to
accomplish a political end.

In 1969 Americans walk on the moon.

Commentary: What role will Obama play?
This nation is based in the Spirit of Exploration. From the
moment the first colonists arrived through the expansion
of settlers and adventurers into the vast unexplored
wilderness of our country, it is that spirit that has driven
us. The American Spirit of Exploration fueled us to
discover, invent, advance and excel. It has brought us to
stand upon the moon.

There is talk about a new manned space initiative. I hear
this with joy because it signals to me that the American
Spirit of Exploration still lives. I fear that fear over the
Obama economic disaster will make the space program
politically incorrect because it doesn't feed hungry
people. I hope that the angry, shortsighted establishment
media will not take up this mantra, forgetting the
countless technological ans scientific advances that
have been born of  space exploration and have
improved and enhanced our lives in innumerable ways.

That is not my greatest fear, however. I see our Spirit of
Exploration in greatest danger from the Obama regime.
The President appears to approve of space exploration-
at the moment. However, his semantics and general
attitudes belie another attitude. This President preaches
acceptance of circumstances. He prescribes the lowering
of expectations and acquiescence to a bleaker future.
The Obama machine is engaged in a general effort to
"soften" Americans, lulling them into a perpetual state of
drowsy dependence. The American Spirit of Exploration
will not survive such a culture.

It is up to us to fight liberal efforts to dumb-down and
numb-out the American people. Staunch support of the
continued exploration of space is key in this effort. When
we seek to discover whatever is out there- we will find
what is best within ourselves. -sjm

Opposing Nationalized/Universal
Healthcare Needs a Final Step

Seeing all of the organized efforts to oppose the
ObamaCare Boondoggle is inspiring for any
Conservative. We may be winning and we must press
our advantage. It is essential that we communicate to
Republican Representatives and Senators that we are
not interested in "improving " the Dem/Obama Bill.
We are not interested in "compromise".

Compromise is not a viable alternative when the
original vessel is based in dishonesty. ObamaCare is.
This is one of those simple truths- the insurance
companies and health institutions are being absolutely
crippled by outrageous malpractice awards in our
courts. Nobody can even spend HUNDREDS of
MILLIONS of DOLLARS. These settlements are
beyond what is fair and practical. That cost must
eventually be passed on to patients in the system.
There you have it- the most significant reason for
excessive health care costs. Remember that close to
50% of those
HUNDREDS-OF-MILLIONS-mega-damage- awards
goes directly into the pocket of a trial lawyer. Naturally
these people are highly motivated to make sure that
they place into office a president and legislators that
will protect their cash cow from law and regulation.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to follow the
chart. These organized trial lawyers have forked over
hundreds of millions to elect Barack Obama and
countless Dems in the House and Senate. Now, they
are doing what they are expected to do and burying it
in a bureaucratic nightmare.

All of this bickering and hand-wringing is just so much
window dressing. We should insist that there is the
need right now- not for a thousand page opus of
convoluted measures- but for one simple bill with one
simple goal: to place reasonable, common sense
limits on the amounts of money that can be awarded
to plaintiffs in health care litigations. Tort Reform.

I fully realize that American health care/insurance
system is not perfect, but we must make this point
boldly and clearly. I suggest that we tell our
representatives that we want
TORT REFORM ONLY.
We want it to go into effect immediately. We want to
see how the cost of health care will be impacted in
one year. At that time, we'd be willing to discuss
further needs for improvement in the health care and
insurance systems.  Logic dictates that any changes
could be made much more effectively after the health
matrix had been allowed to function for a while without
the huge financial strain of excessive litigation. Many
of the Democrat initiatives might not even be needed.

We can't compromise. We can't be satisfied to just
slow them down. We must take control of the battle.
Make your demand loud and clear. TORT REFORM
NOW and only  REAL TORT REFORM, not some
meager facsimile designed to appease us! Let's
demand tort reform of the President and his Democrat
cohorts. We'll find out whether when they say their first
concern is for the "people" if they mean citizens or the
"people" who comprise the powerful trial lawyers
lobby.

In 1932, Adolf Hitler refused to serve
as Vice Chancellor

Commentary: We Cannot Allow Self -Appointed
Guardians of Correctness to Outlaw Historical
and comparative Analysis of pre-Nazi Weimar
Republic and Nazi-era Germany.
When Hitler refused this appointment it was an
indicator of his single-minded dedication to his
goal of establishing himself in a position of sole
leadership. Germany operated as a parliamentary
system at the time, forging alliances between
various political parties. Hitler, through hard work
and a series of brilliant strategic moves, had
established the National Socialist German
Workers Party (the Nazi Party) as a dominant
force. Having come in second in recent elections,
it would have been expected for Hitler to serve as
Vice Chancellor. He refused and devoted his time
to machinations that brought him the role of
Chancellor very shortly.

There is so much to be learned from the study of
Hitler and his political life and governmental
policies. Unfortunately a minuscule number of
protesters making some sort of Nazi reference to
the health care reform act is being used to shut
down this avenue of study and discussion. Firstly-
out of tens of thousand voices of protest and
concern nationally the administration can only
come up with scant examples of insulting Nazi
inferences. However, many, many  have cause
now to examine certain events in the history of the
Nazi takeover of Germany.  Of course Hitler was
among the most vile of history's villains, but to
make comparative examinations between people,
events and policies of then and America now does
in no way indicate that any single person is
equivalent to Hitler. If a president of today should
hold a philosophy or utilize a strategy that was
similar to something in Hitler's day, that is, in no
way, saying that the current American is Hitler. It
does indicate that there are issues that warrant-no
demand- thorough study and consideration.-sjm

Understanding the New LIberals

We weren’t prepared for this. We thought we knew what liberals
were. We had an image in our minds.

We saw liberals as hippies that never grew out of the phase.
Liberals were people who saw a large and intrusive
government as the solution to every problem and the cure to
every social ill. We thought that liberals hate business and view
it largely as an evil robber of the poor. We saw liberals as
haters of war and of actions that would curtail illegal
immigration and be too hard on the criminal element.

Although the face of liberalism has become collectively more
strident and nasty since 9/11, still we thought liberals were
misguided but benign- caring of humanity.

There is a new faction of liberalism. It is not so benign. So
different in tone is this new liberalism from the tone of the over-
the-hill-hippy liberal that America is having some difficulty
processing it. But process it we must, for New Liberalism has a
profound influence on the current White House.

New Liberalism is based in a strange dichotomy. New Liberals
want government programs to care for the every need of the
people. New Liberals are also realistic enough to see that
funding this massive government is going to be extremely
difficult and stripping the wealthy of their money will not do it.
New liberals believe that the other half of the equation is to
streamline the people. This so-called health care reform is
basically a battleplan for that streamlining process. The new
Liberals have taken off their headbands and replaced their
peace signs with another hand gesture. Unlike original hippies
who disdained materialism, for New Liberals it is all about the
money and funding the program. This priority trumps all others.

Therefore, it is acceptable that the goal of using health care
reform as a device to streamline the American people.  The
myriad of programs in HR3200 for example if all followed to
their logical conclusions will produce a young, productive
American people, free of illness, defect, age or disease. It will
then be possible and affordable for the government to cover the
needs of this new, improved populace.

We must come to terms with this New Liberalism that is not
guided by hazy cloud of love and peace but by cold, hard
utilitarianism. New liberals are not being secretive. A little
research reveals their plan of action: discourage the birth of
babies in general and vigorously invest in all research and
practice that will identify potential health problems, defects and
disabilities in human fetuses so that action can be taken to be
sure that those babies are not born. This is nothing personal to
New Liberals. It is simply necessary action to keep future health
care costs down. Next the plan calls for culling out existing
persons who are too expensive to maintain. The many New
Liberal initiatives that appear on the surface to be only efforts at
controlling human behavior can also be used to usher the
expensively unwell, disabled and unfit and elderly, more quickly
along the road to death. Again, nothing personal. This is all
about costs and productivity.

Even traditional liberals are dismayed. The New Liberals are
alien to the traditional liberals. They don’t oppose war because
killing is wrong. They pick and choose wars to support based
on political expediency. They don’t love everybody, only those
who can produce for the cause. They don’t support freedom of
speech, but rather communication that is sculpted and
contained.  Traditionals are confused and worried.

We, Conservatives, may defeat the New Liberals in this single
health care battle, but that victory will stand alone if we do not
learn now how to recognize and understand the New
Liberalism. Their NanyState is by invitation only.

A Roar from the Right-
Battlefield Communiques
for Conservatives on the Front Line:

Opposing Nationalized/Universal
Healthcare Needs a Final Step

Seeing all of the organized efforts to oppose the
ObamaCare Boondoggle is inspiring for any
Conservative. We may be winning and we must
press our advantage. It is essential that we
communicate to Republican Representatives and
Senators that we are not interested in "improving "
the Dem/Obama Bill. We are not interested in
"compromise".

Compromise is not a viable alternative when the
original vessel is based in dishonesty.
ObamaCare is. This is one of those simple truths-
the insurance companies and health institutions
are being absolutely crippled by outrageous
malpractice awards in our courts. Nobody can
even spend HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of
DOLLARS. These settlements are beyond what is
fair and practical. That cost must eventually be
passed on to patients in the system. There you
have it- the most significant reason for excessive
health care costs. Remember that close to 50% of
those
HUNDREDS-OF-MILLIONS-mega-damage-
awards goes directly into the pocket of a trial
lawyer. Naturally these people are highly
motivated to make sure that they place into office
a president and legislators that will protect their
cash cow from law and regulation. You don't have
to be a rocket scientist to follow the chart. These
organized trial lawyers have forked over hundreds
of millions to elect Barack Obama and countless
Dems in the House and Senate. Now, they are
doing what they are expected to do and burying it
in a bureaucratic nightmare.

All of this bickering and hand-wringing is just so
much window dressing. We should insist that there
is the need right now- not for a thousand page
opus of convoluted measures- but for one simple
bill with one simple goal: to place reasonable,
common sense limits on the amounts of money
that can be awarded to plaintiffs in health care
litigations. Tort Reform.

I fully realize that American health care/insurance
system is not perfect, but we must make this point
boldly and clearly. I suggest that we tell our
representatives that we want
TORT REFORM
ONLY
. We want it to go into effect immediately.
We want to see how the cost of health care will be
impacted in one year. At that time, we'd be willing
to discuss further needs for improvement in the
health care and insurance systems.  Logic
dictates that any changes could be made much
more effectively after the health matrix had been
allowed to function for a while without the huge
financial strain of excessive litigation. Many of the
Democrat initiatives might not even be needed.

We can't compromise. We can't be satisfied to
just slow them down. We must take control of the
battle. Make your demand loud and clear. TORT
REFORM NOW and only  REAL TORT REFORM,
not some meager facsimile designed to appease
us! Let's demand tort reform of the President and
his Democrat cohorts. We'll find out whether when
they say their first concern is for the "people" if
they mean citizens or the "people" who comprise
the powerful trial lawyers lobby.

On This Day in History...
In 1775 rebelous colonists first began
to gather around a large elm tree in
Boston.

Commentary: The "Liberty Tree" was instituted
so that revolutionaries could have a "casual
place to gather.
As British rule became more authoritarian and
hostile colonists seeking individual freedom saw
the need to assemble in order to form opposition
to actions such as the Stamp Act. However, the
government, desperate to maintain control, put
stringent regulations on assembly. Primarily,
citizens must seek government approval and
authorization to gather. Hence, the huge old tree at
a Boston street corner. Here people could come
and go naturally, reading a notice posted on the
tree, coming to meet with others when summoned
by a flag buried in the branches. Those who
originally met around Boston's Liberty Elm called
themselves "The Sons of Liberty". Soon the
"Liberty Tree" became a focus of the revolution
movement. Other such trees or poles came into
being in all the other colonies with chapters of "The
Sons of Liberty" as well.

History teaches us much about human behavior.
We saw that a weakening British government acted
first by making efforts to keep the colonists from
communicating with other and from forming
alliances with other. That is why an "unauthorized"
assembly among colonists could produce
imprisonment or death for participants.

Today, the measures a desperate Obama
Administration takes against "Town Hall
Protesters" may not be as draconian at first blush.
However, Obama's goals are identical. Stop
communication. The White House may or may not
be databasing. Their more immediate goal in
controlling the Internet is to intimidate and
discourage Internet communication and to
discourage attendance at unwanted assemblies.

We must channel the courage of the original
children of liberty and we must create as many
liberty trees as  we can- be they town hall
meetings, peaceful protests or webpages. We
must not be discouraged by the veiled threats of
the Obama government. The tree is ours.

On This Day in History...
In 1920 the 19th Amendment
Was Approved Giving
Suffrage to Women

Commentary: Many who discuss this event
are astounded that it took so long for women
to be granted the vote in this country.
 Many
modern women are actually angry. I am not
angry. I can see how it happened. The harsh
demands of settling a new country would
send men out of the home to farm or hunt or
work. Women would be left in the home to
nurse the children and to cook and clean
and do laundry, etc.- all without the benefit of
convenience. It was the men who would
encounter the social and political issues of
the day. It was the men who would be out of
the home and attending town hall meetings
and the like. I am not saying it was right. I'm
saying that's how it was. I'm also suggesting
that the amount of time it took to rectify the
situation was more about resistance to
change than it was about deliberate malice
toward women.

Be that as it may, the most important
consideration for us today is to jealously
protect that progress that we have made in
establishing true equality for our citizens-
women and men. That is why I am absolutely
dismayed to see efforts to bring Muslim
Shari Law into our American legal system.
This code treats women as little more than
chattel.  American Equality may have been
sluggish in its evolution, but it is established
and it is real.

Shari Law is draconian and backward in the
way woman are viewed and treated.
American women and men must stand
beside Lady Justice as she guards every
courthouse door from this insidious enemy
to women's rights. .-sjm
